A brief patch of sunshine falls on the remains of the Premonstratensian Egglestone Abbey highlighting it against a dark sky background with a feint rainbow. Taken from the Teesdale Way long distance footpath at Abbey Bridge.

A lone silhouette climbs the steps beneath a dark archway on the way up to Prague Castle. The bright courtyard beyond contrasts sharply with the shadowed passage, creating a dramatic black and white moment that captures the quiet, timeless atmosphere of Prague’s historic streets.

When Light withdraws, darkness claims its domain. Yet, the truth remains: darkness is not its own force, but the absence of Light. Only when Light advances into the void does the darkness dissolve and retreat, for darkness cannot exist where Light abides.

In the rhythm of the dance, the past awakens. Strength, tradition, and spirit merge in motion—each step echoing the voices of those who came before.

Rannoch Moor as a place of wonder, one of the last really wild places in Scotland. Imagine a triangular area, stood on its apex, about 10 miles across its base and about 10 miles from top to bottom. Imagine that this 50 square mile inverted triangle is a roughly level plateau that sits at an altitude of a little over 1000ft. Imagine that its surface is dotted with innumerable lochs, lochans, peat bogs, and streams; that it is surrounded by mountains that rise to over 3000ft to the south-east and the west and to over 2000ft in the north. And, finally, imagine that this area is crossed by a railway line, running a little inside the south-east side of the triangle, and a single road, running a little inside the south-west side of the triangle. Congratulations: you've just invented Rannoch Moor.

Most people first see Rannoch Moor when driving north from Bridge of Orchy. Near Achallader the main road and the railway line diverge and the road makes a sweeping climb up to the Rannoch Moor plateau. What you find there can be a glory of heather and lochan surrounded by distant mountains. Or it can be a grey cloud-shrouded landscape through which you catch occasional glimpses of an other-worldly landscape. If Achallader marks the southern apex of Rannoch Moor's triangle, then the other two are equally distinctive. In the north-east lies Rannoch Station and the end of the public road in from Pitlochry, 40 miles to the east.

Stepping inside Hagia Sophia feels like standing at the crossroads of empires, faiths, and centuries of history. Beneath its monumental dome, golden light dances across ancient mosaics and calligraphy, blending Byzantine grandeur with Ottoman elegance.

A place where architecture becomes emotion, and time seems to pause in reverence. ✨

In Iceland's northern winter, it wasn't always immediately obvious where the clouds ended and the mountains began.

A selective-color and tonal-blend study built to let the climber’s shadow rise as a second presence—quietly shaping the moment more than the climber himself.

A father and his two boys share a moment in the family barn that's about to be torn down. This barn has been in their family for over 40 years! They have made so many memories together for now three generations to remember and enjoy. I was honored to be able to create these portraits for them as they realized that they were going to miss this old, rustic barn. What an amazing family.

In life as on SL, married for eternity ♥

Yanagidani-kannon

He knelt not as a coward, but as a soul burdened by questions no life could answer. Jack Skellington, the master of fright, faced Death not to bargain — but to understand. What lies beyond the screams, beyond the bones, beyond the endless Halloween? And in that stillness, as the scythe shimmered in silence, even Death seemed to listen.

"Waiting is painful. Forgetting is painful. But not knowing which to do is the worst kind of suffering."

--Paulo Coelho

I've spent so much time waiting for things in this exact spot.

I was feeling very uncreative today. It was perfect light outside, but everything I tried was crap. So I plopped down on my front room couch and pouted til I got a last minute idea.

I love grain. I love high ISO. I hate the person who first decided that it was a sign of bad quality.

I chose to have my white balance on shade because I thought it was ironic to marry a really sad, empty feeling with warm, inviting colors.

Still working on this nice sunset... incorporated many different foreground elements and angles... was a fun summer night.

A hand raised—not in greeting, but in quiet resistance. Behind its weathered lines hides a soul half-revealed, wrapped in shadow and silence. The eye watches—not accusing, not afraid—but aware. This is the language of the unseen, the unspoken, the unresolved. A gesture that protects, deflects, and declares: enough. In every palm, a map. In every stare, a storm waiting to speak.

Monochrome fashion study featuring floral tattoo detail and sculptural lighting. Shot in studio with directional light for contrast and texture emphasis.

A combination of rain clouds and intermintent sun made for dramatic skies over the sandstone cliff formations in the Sedona region. A painters dream lasting only moments as the light would then disappear as it played hide and seek. Photographers had to be patient and awake to the moment which is just how I like it to be. The one formation does resemble a penis well some of them anyway. And other high towers are given fancy and funny names as well. Its a land of wonder, awe, wow as well as a dream come true for hikers, nature lovers, and artists of every kind.

A calm yet powerful moment.

This manatee, almost sculpted by light, glides through lettuce like a silent guardian of underwater worlds.

Captured in a natural light setting, this shot plays on contrast, texture, and atmosphere.

I tried to let the softness speak louder than the scene itself.
