A moment of silence deep within Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda . . .

The silverback moved slowly through the shadows, powerful yet calm, carrying the quiet authority only age and experience can command. In the dim jungle light, every distraction disappeared — leaving only presence, texture, and emotion.

Black and white felt natural for this encounter. It stripped the scene down to its essence: strength, wisdom, and the timeless atmosphere of the forest itself.

Captured during an unforgettable encounter with a wild mountain gorilla in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

This image captures a moment of tranquility featuring a woman in an elegant pose against a dark background. The soft glow illuminates her face and the earring she wears, adding a sense of mystery and elegance to the scene.

Portrait en noir et blanc capturant un regard direct et puissant. Le contraste doux du clair-obscur met en avant l’expression réfléchie et l’atmosphère minimaliste.

The world feels different when seen from another angle.

Eyes wide, unblinking, absorbing everything — not just the light, but the questions unspoken, the stories untold.

Here lies a quiet moment of stillness and curiosity, captured just before it slips away. The shadows cradle him like a secret, while his gaze dares you to stop, look closer, and wonder what he sees that you do not.

A rather splendid view from Harwood. Peghorn Lodge farm with a meadow full of Marsh Marigolds in front of it slightly right of centre, Widdybank Fell behind it. Mickle Fell behind that in the distance and Cronkley Scar in a patch of sunshine center left. And what a sky! Taken on the last day of meterological spring - 31 May 2026

Egypt - Cairo - القاهرة‎ - al-Qāhira - Great Pyramids of Giza - UNESCO World Heritage Site - Famous last remaining monument of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World

The pyramids of Giza are perhaps the only true rival to the Great Sphinx when one thinks of ancient Egypt and its architecture. The Valley of Giza -- with its wonderful monuments -- is truly a marvel of architectural prowess. The three largest pyramids located in the valley consist of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Kafhre and the Pyramid of Menkaura.

The Great Pyramid of Giza enjoys special status among the "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World". None of the others have survived into the modern era. The construction, date, and possible symbolism of the Giza pyramids are still not entirely understood. This mystery only adds to the attractiveness of these ancient wonders and many modern people still regard Giza as a spiritual place. A number of fascinating theories have been offered to explain the "mystery of the pyramids".

Everytime I visit such a famous place like pyramids of Giza, I'm faced with a challenge that this place was photographed probably a trillion times and it is nearly impossible to come with something original. The day I visitted Giza valley rewarded me with some wonderful sky with clouds that created nice shadows passing over pyramids.

A long-exposure view of Tower Bridge, London, looking straight into the tower as the city rushes by.

Red and white traffic trails slice through the frame while the suspension lines and railings pull the eye toward the arch. The wet walkway adds subtle reflections, and the lamps bloom into starbursts against the night sky—classic London drama, just after dark.

Nafplion (Modern Greek: Ναύπλιο, Nafplio) or Nauplion (Greek: Ναύπλιων, Naupliōn) is a seaport town in the Peloponnese in Greece that has expanded up the hillsides near the north end of the Argolic Gulf. The town was the first capital of modern Greece, from 1829 to 1834. Nafplion is situated on the Argolic Gulf in the northeast Peloponnese. Most of the old town is on a peninsula jutting into the gulf; this peninsula forms a naturally protected bay that is enhanced by the addition of man-made moles. The area surrounding Nafplion has been inhabited since ancient times though little sign of this remains within the town. The town has been a stronghold at several times in history.

I still remember the morning I took this shot. I remember how much I wanted to stay in bed and enjoy lazy morning but as soon as I've seen the fog forming above the sea, I forced myself to go out. I had to find some point of interest and was pleased to find these wooden sticks in the water. Photography can sometimes be really demanding, especially for the morning shoot. Well no sleep tomorrow, already planning to go out at 3.45am for the morning blue hour (or blue 15 minutes here in Middle East)

A small and very brief patch of sunshine lights up County Bridge and the castle ruins at Barnard Castle.

Mountainscape, mist, daylight, a bird and some high voltage pylons.

This photo captures the breathtaking beauty of Hong Kong's skyline at sunset. The towering skyscrapers are silhouetted against a fiery sky, creating a dramatic and unforgettable scene. The sun peeks through the clouds, casting a warm glow over the city, while the distant mountains add a sense of scale and grandeur.

Star Power - Spotlight Theory: A study in poised visibility. This composition explores the interplay between illuminated presence and dramatic shadow. The focused lighting treatment and confident demeanor transform a classic portrait into a highly editorial, modern tableau. If this portrait had a soundtrack, what genre would it be?

Layers of warm light stretch across alpine ridges as the last sunbeams slide over the horizon.

The natural rock lines lead the eye directly toward the glowing sun, creating a strong sense of depth and direction.

Captured in the French Alps, this moment blends golden light, clean composition, and the silent power of mountain landscapes.

In my town there was fore casted terrible bad weather. So I took my camera and I was waiting for what was coming. Well it wasn't all that bad, but there was some beautiful lightning and I caught one.

EN In the half-light, she seems suspended between prayer and defiance.

The veil behind her becomes breath, storm, memory.

Every gesture carries the weight of rejection, yet also the strength of a heart refusing to fade.

This scene is not only about tragedy.

It speaks of those who are seen without ever truly being understood,

of beauty born at the edges,

of light surviving despite judgment.

Even on her knees, she remains immense.

Captured in the timeless beauty of black and white, this photograph showcases the majestic rock formations of Zion National Park. The interplay of light and shadow casts dramatic lines across the textured landscape, inviting contemplation and wonder.

Seattle seen from the sky — a mosaic of glass, steel, and shadow. From above, the city feels timeless, its towers rising like quiet sentinels over the grid below. The sun carves sharp lines between buildings, turning the streets into rivers of light and darkness. In monochrome, the city reveals its bones — geometry, rhythm, and quiet order within the chaos.

The dramatic light continued for the rest of the day and I was largely focused on scouting out locations rather than doing much photography.

This, I couldn't pass up however. The light was really working it's magic on Grindslow Knoll, I got my foreground exposures taken (I always focus stack) and took a dozen or so shots of the background as the shape of the dappled highlights was in constant motion. I picked this one as my favourite. On another note, it really is that insanely green out on the Peak at the moment!

Here is one of those Texas roadside revivals that come straight out of the movies. I happened to get there around sunset, so there was nice dramatic lighting to complement the drama of the environs.

The place was totally empty. I got a little bit creeped out...and I felt like maybe I was being watched. I snapped a few quick shots and then made a hasty egress...

A huge sky over Hardberry Hill, Teesdale on a blustery day.

Some nice light around and some gaps in the cloud for the sun to break through as it dives slowly below the lake Taupo horizon.

The photograph explores the tension between constraint and self-discovery, between isolation and the yearning to engage with the world beyond imposed limits. In a time when truth is often obscured, Breaktruth captures the fragile yet profound moment of revelation—an echo of resilience, desire, and the unstoppable force of human will.

The evening of August 3rd was something of a dream shoot for me. I have seen many, many photos of golden hour and sunset at Bamford Edge and have yearned to take shots of my own here.

My first composition presented itself before I'd barely summited the path from New Road stile, the light hitting Win Hill with the deep mysterious shadows on the leeward side grabbing my attention as well as the gorgeous texture and shape of the clouds above.

Light like this is usually fleeting, but as I shot my few exposures it became apparent, I had time to finesse the composition allowing me to be more deliberate, I shuffled left and right more times than I care to admit in order to get Lose Hill lined up with the silhouette of Grindslow Knoll above, but absolutely worth doing, if only for myself.
