The "fallen angel" statue by Ricardo Bellver (1877) is inside Madrid's park El Retiro. It's the only devil statue worldwide.
The statue was inspired by Milton's poem "Paradise Lost".

Satan, though capable of disguising himself as an "angel of light" (2 Cor 11:14), is the leader of the fallen angels. The Book of Revelation tells of "that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world," being thrown down to the earth together with his angels".

Carved by the slow and relentless forces of nature, the famous hole of Torghatten pierces straight through the mountain on the island of Torget in Brønnøy, Norway. Standing here, looking westward toward the sea, it feels like a passage between worlds — a gateway where rock, light, and ocean meet.
According to legend, the hole was created when the troll Hestmannen shot an arrow after a fleeing maiden. The mountain king of Sømna threw his hat to save her, and as the rising sun turned them all to stone, the hat became Torghatten — with the arrow’s path forming the hole we see today.
Fun fact: The hole is 160 meters long, 35 meters high, and 20 meters wide — large enough to walk through, with a stunning view of the Helgeland coast on the other side.

Channeling the haunting elegance of silent-era screen legends, this monochrome portrait captures a moment suspended between glamour and melancholy. With eyes that feel lifted from a forgotten nitrate reel, the image echoes the emotional intensity and enigmatic beauty of classic cinema’s golden ghosts. Miranda embodies a timeless cinematic presence through shadow, stillness, and expression.

Wanting to play with dramatic lighting on a subject that had defined muscle tone, I talked Cameron into posing for this shot.

In the vastness of the Cantabrian Sea, the Mouro Island Lighthouse rises as an eternal bastion against the fury of the elements. At its feet, a small traditional "trainera" challenges the sheer scale of nature, navigating an emerald expanse that divides the calm from the storm.

When I moved to PEI a little over a year ago, I drove past this scene on the last day of my road trip from Whitehorse to Summerside. On that day it was pouring rain and we were too exhausted and too close to our destination to stop. Today, I took my first trip off Island since arriving and my destination was the zoo in Moncton New Brunswick. On the way back to PEI, the cloud had moved in and the sky was looking very moody. Fortunately, just as I passed this place again, some brilliant golden light crept through the clouds and lit this brush just for a minute. During that brief window I was able to capture this. The light was perfect! How perfect? Well, I just ran a few minor adjustments in Lightroom, and no local adjustments whatsoever. This is what I saw. It is such a cool place!
This photo was taken with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 and M.Zuiko 40-150mm f/2.8 Pro at f/3.5. No additional filters were used and standard adjustments only in Lightroom. This is not an AI generated or modified image.
In this dramatic black & white portrait, a mighty rhinoceros stands firm, embodying the raw power and resilience of nature. Every wrinkle in its thick skin, every mark on its horn tells a story of survival. The intense contrast and deep shadows enhance its presence, making this a timeless scene of strength and solitude. Captured in striking detail, this image highlights the majesty of one of the world's most iconic wildlife species.

This photo was taken at incredibly beautiful and overwhelming place - Praia da Ursa (Ursa Beach). The rocks, the waves and the wind make for a mindblowing spectacle. It is considered the most beautiful beach of Portugal and one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. This picture was taken with the strongest sunset light just before the sun has disappeared for that day.

Antalya (formerly known as Adalia or Attalia; from Pamphylian Greek: Αττάλεια Attáleia) is a city on the Mediterranean coast of southwestern Turkey, and the capital city of Antalya Province. Situated on coastal cliffs, Antalya is surrounded by mountains. It is not known when the site of the current city was first inhabited. Attalos II, king of Pergamon, was believed to have founded the city around 150 BC, naming it Attalia and selecting it as a naval base for his powerful fleet. However, excavations in 2008 in the Doğu Garajı district of Antalya have uncovered remains dating to the 3rd century BC, suggesting that the city was founded earlier than previously supposed. Antalya became part of the Roman Republic in 133 BC when King Attalos III of Pergamum willed his kingdom to Rome at his death. Development and investment, began in the 1970s, have transformed the city into a major international resort.
I dont know why, but when hearing Antalya before my last trip, I pictured kilometers of sandy beaches covered with one resort next to each other, sunbed next to sunbed ... simply perfect place for the mass tourism and last place I'd like to spend my holiday. Bigger the surprise when arriving to the beautiful boutique hotel in the very center of old Antalya called Kaleiçi. It is restored historical center of the city - with its hotels, bars, clubs, restaurants, and shopping. It retains much of its historical character. The city includes sites with traces of Lycian, Pamphylian, and Hellenistic -but mainly Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman- architecture and cultures. Old city is now beatifically transformed and most of the wonderful Otoman houses are now hotels with lot of charm.
This particular beach location was more of a surprise as I planned to shoot the morning blue hour in the old harbor (after checking to the hotel at 1AM, 5AM wake up call is something we all dream off !! ) I've discovered small, rather hidden beach with beautiful rocks. I have taken this shot from higher view point using 190 sec for exposure that would beautifully smoothen the sea and give it silk effect.

Three oriental lilies caught at full extension — their petals flung open in a moment of unapologetic colour.
The magenta edges flare into the light, creating a tension between softness and intensity.
I wanted the photograph to feel immediate — almost electric — as if the colour itself were the subject. The contrast between the velvety pink and the dark backdrop creates that “shock”: a sudden, vivid interruption of shadow by life at its most expressive stage.
A simple still life, but one that refuses to be quiet.
This is shot from a bridge over the highway, it wasn't completely dark but dark enough to accomplish this image with a very low shutter speed.
When I am at work in my little studio my Iphone gently fills the room with music. U2 is my favourite band so I thought lets capture this moment. I didn't use a flash I used the light from a small window.

studio. the room is black. absolute silence. a wooden chair. a child, perhaps two years old, dressed in ribbed blue. the light strikes from the side, sudden and sharp. it is not a gentle light. the child reaches out into the void. the mouth is open, a cry or a song frozen in time. we do not know the cause. there is only the action. a raw, unfiltered expression of will. captured on medium format. the moment is held, undeniably.
A dramatic evening unfolds over the streets of Berlin, as storm clouds roll in above the striking modern architecture of Potsdamer Platz. The wet pavement reflects the fading light, adding texture and depth to the scene while the city continues to move beneath the changing sky.
This moment captures Berlin’s contrast—bold, geometric structures against a turbulent sky—where everyday life carries on through shifting light and weather.
Cornish sunset spilling its light across the sands outside Merlin’s Cave at Tintagel. The waves rolled in with a golden shimmer while the cliffs framed the scene in shadow. Captured on my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra — proof that sometimes the best moments don’t need a DSLR, just the right light and a bit of patience.
Seems to have been scattered light AND birds!

Every sunset is different, because every day; sun is different, clouds
are different, space is different, reflections are different....mountains
are different, fogs are different, and above all, we are different.

“So often goes the cat to the lard that it leaves its paw behind.”
This proverb speaks about temptation and habit: when you keep going back to the same risk, the same vice, the same mistake… sooner or later you pay the price. Not because of fate, but because repetition leaves traces — and traces become proof.
I chose to represent this saying through Artificial Intelligence not to replace photography or “pure” art, but to use a new medium as an expressive tool.
For me, AI is not a master and not a shortcut: it is a contemporary material, like light, a set, collage, or editing.
I use it on my own terms, to step outside conventional boundaries and translate universal concepts into images — without becoming a slave to the machine, but remaining the author.
