Well the show is over and everybody took off. Some went to cruise nite meet and greets others went on home or to grab late nite grub.

It was the first week of school after summer and some knuckle heads do a drive by on a group of teens walking down the street across from Crenshaw High. Two were hit but thankfully no one was killed.

The cowardly perpetrators that shot this young man don't need a reason.... Pay back.... mistaken identity.... wearing the wrong colors.... walking by your self..... walking in a group.....maybe he looked like a rival... so lets just Blast him any way..... what you looking at?..... hey lets not forget the young deaf woman and young deaf man that were gunned down when they were signing one another because the dumb ass thug thought they were throwing up gang signs. Our justice system is too slow, we need to execute these cold blooded murderers, execute them even if their victim lives so they can't contaminate the rest of the planet, OHH I'm sorry did I say something politically incorrect? Ask me if I care.

Don't you con me with your mind-expansion slop. I deal with kids every day. I try to clean up the mess that people like you make out of 'em. I'm the expert here. You're not.

The UPF(United in Peace Foundation) hosted a Peace Ride on July 28 in memory of the slain Florida teen Trayvon Martin.

Hundreds of Bikers, lowriders /classic cars & Corvette club road from the Leimert Park area to Magic Johnson Park. The ride was also dedicated to the thousands of mothers and fathers whose youngsters have been gunned down in senseless violence throughout the country.

Found some more photos taken with my old ROLLEI ROLLIFLEX 35 MM SLR of the '92 L. A. Riots, laying in a box. I can kick myself that I didn't sneak a few shots with my camera while the mayhem was going on. I was busy ducking and dodging and running red lights to avoid trouble. Almost all the pictures you see were taken on the third day of the riots when the authorities started to gain control.

I tip my hat to the journalist that were in the thick of it, they got some fantastic shots.

A fire broke out early Friday morning (4/26/13) about 2 am at the Bethesda Temple Apostolic Church in the Windsor Hills / Leimert Park area on the 4900 block of Crenshaw Blvd. Residence near by said they heard an explosion. It took 80 firefighters a little under an hour to put the fire out. The main building was completely gutted by the fire. The south wing of the church facility and Bethesda Senior apartments/home next door suffered little or no damage. LAFD Arson Investigators, FBI and the ATF are still looking into the cause, but fire officials say the fire does not appear to be criminal in nature, and there are no signs of foul play at this time. 7 months earlier I was just two blocks east and got pictures of another church fire in the HYDE PARK area at 11th Ave. & 48th st. Galilee Baptist Church was completely gutted by a fire. I still can't get a clear answer as to what caused that fire. If anyone knows for certain please leave a comment.

Bo Daddy's BBQ commissioned the art work in the parking lot.

While cruzing the Blvd. a motorscooter kop's Remington 870 Pump action pistol grip Shotgun disengaged from the locking mechanism on the bikes rack and fell into the street in the area of Bronson Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard in LAPD’s Southwest Division. The gun was picked up by a bystander and he took off running with it and a large LAPD search and destroy mission ensued .... I mean a large search ensued and suspect was later caught and the shotgun retrieved.

EL REY TACOS my favorite place to go when I crave a gr8 burrito or taco. I usually get the Combination which is beef, bean, cheese and red sauce burrito with extra cheese and onions. If you ever ate at the Pup N' Taco back in the 60's and 70s you more then likely had their killer Combination burrito, well EL REYS taste just like it. Taco Bell and del Taco don't have a clue how to make good food, in my humble opinion, lol. It's a mystery to me why T. BELL & Del are still in business.

Day 09 (17.04.2013)

Andaman Sea, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, India

Other important sources of nutrients in the Andaman Sea are seagrass and the mud bottoms of lagoons and coastal areas. They also create a habitat or temporal shelter for many burrowing and benthic organisms. Many aquatic species migrate from and to seagrass either daily or at certain stages of their life cycle. The human activities which damage seagrass beds include waste water discharge from coastal industry, shrimp farms and other forms of coastal development, as well as trawling and the use of push nets and dragnets. The 2004 tsunami affected 3.5% of seagrass areas along the Andaman Sea via siltation and sand sedimentation and 1.5% suffered total habitat loss.

O, Death

O, Death

Won't you spare me over til another year

Well what is this that I can't see

With ice cold hands takin' hold of me

Well I am death, none can excel

I'll open the door to heaven or hell

Whoa, death someone would pray

Could you wait to call me another day

The children prayed, the preacher preached

Time and mercy is out of your reach

I'll fix your feet til you cant walk

I'll lock your jaw til you cant talk

I'll close your eyes so you can't see

This very air, come and go with me

I'm death I come to take the soul

Leave the body and leave it cold

To draw up the flesh off of the frame

Dirt and worm both have a claim

O, Death

O, Death

Won't you spare me over til another year

My mother came to my bed

Placed a cold towel upon my head

My head is warm my feet are cold

Death is a-movin upon my soul

Oh, death how you're treatin' me

You've close my eyes so I can't see

Well you're hurtin' my body

You make me cold

You run my life right outta my soul

Oh death please consider my age

Please don't take me at this stage

My wealth is all at your command

If you will move your icy hand

Oh the young, the rich or poor

Hunger like me you know

No wealth, no ruin, no silver no gold

Nothing satisfies me but your soul

O, death

O, death

Wont you spare me over til another year

Wont you spare me over til another year.

SWAT team have surrounded a woman with a gun barricaded in a vehicle at Slauson & 8th Ave. in the Hyde Park area. Don't know what lead up to the cause of the incident.

In this photo the smoke is from tear gas shot into the car, and she gives up.

A sample of some of the music lesson applications found with the photos.

The Institute of Musical Arts (IMA) was founded in 1922, as a music training facility, and became the Crenshaw area's primary performing recital hall during the 1940s-60s. In the 1970s, musician-engineer partners, Ray G. Clark and Oliver P. Brown constructed a state-of-the-art recording studio, CBA (Clark-Brown Audio) on the premises.

During the 1970s-80s, the studio played host to a Who's Who listing of musicians, artists, actors, politicians and local activists. Its long list of recording alumni include, Marvin Gaye, Bobby Womack, Nancy Wilson, Ernie Watts, Billy Davis, Ndugu Chancler, and Patrice Rushen.

In 1988, the City of Los Angeles bestowed upon IMA and CBA "Historical-Cultural Monument" status, and it continued, through the 1990s, it's tradition of providing progressive programs that benefit and influence the surrounding Greater-Crenshaw community.

IMA underwent a complete renovation in 2010 and it is now the home of:

The Ray G. Clark Theater, a live-performance venue.

Spoken Word Studios, a state-of-the-art digital recording studio specializing in spoken word performances, radio remotes, podcasts, and audio books.

While at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library I got to meet 89 year old Nathen Blackwell of Ventura, Calif. an old-world craftsman, "V-cut" letters, is his specialty. He is very good at what he does. I stood there and watched him do it for a while. He does not make it look easy. He is very precise, painstaking so, especially slow and careful, deliberate. This dude is amazing and he MADE HIS OWN TOOLS MAN ! ! ! In an Article for the L. A. Times by By Gail Davis, he said Michelangelo, was a wonderful sculptor, but lousy at lettering. HAHAHA, hey I'm sure he knows what he is talking about. In 1991 Marcel Mächler carved the bulk of the donor names into the walls of the lobby at the Reagan Presidential Library.

Crenshaw Center shops and anchor stores like Broadway Dept store, May Co., Woolworth and many retail stores opened in November 1947. Then in 1988 got a major remodel including a pedestrian walk way that connected the Broadway with the May Co. Dept. stores that crossed over Martin Luther King Blyd. (formerly Santa Barbara Blvd.)

Currently closed/ simi open new stores retail businesses on hold due to Covid-19.
