I was lucky enough to see The Fall on nine occasions (the tenth was cancelled owing to Mark's ill health). I didn't feel a single memorial photograph was enough to remember the man and the band that meant so much to me, so over the next few days I will upload one photo from each of those gigs (in no particular order), along with the relevant set list. There's a lyric quotation with each one too - not necessarily from a song that was performed at that gig, but just one that meant something to me, or made me laugh.

Under The Bridge, Chelsea - 10th June 2014.

Set list: The Remainderer / Cowboy George / Bury / White Lightning / Pledge / Sir William Wray / Mister Rode / I've Been Duped / Strychnine / Hittite Man / Blindness / Theme from Sparta F.C.

My vibrations will live on

In vibes on vinyl through the years

People will dance to my waves"

Found some more photos taken with my old ROLLEI ROLLIFLEX 35 MM SLR of the '92 L. A. Riots, laying in a box. I can kick myself that I didn't sneak a few shots with my camera while the mayhem was going on. I was busy ducking and dodging and running red lights to avoid trouble. Almost all the pictures you see were taken on the third day of the riots when the authorities started to gain control.

I tip my hat to the journalist that were in the thick of it, they got some fantastic shots.

Pann's @ LaTijera Blvd and La Cienega Blvd. A lot of folks think PULP FICTION was filmed here but it was filmed at the Pann's owners other restaurant Holly's, in Hawthorn, Calif. They got some gr8 pancakes here, u gotta stop by and check it out. www.panns.com/breakfast.htm

"We want to be free... Free to ride our machines without being hassled by the man!" It started out with old classics and lowriders and Harleys converging on the bridge and a car show broke out. Then some knuckle head brought unnecessary attention to the whole thing by lighting a smoke canister / bomb. From the distance I guess it looked as if some one was doing a burn out. The L.A.P.D. comes and breaks up the show. But as the photos prove the SHOW still went on.... UNDER THE BRIDGE.

saw this on the back window of a mini van in a parking lot.

"You were issued this when you first came on the job. 20 bucks worth of brass and pot metal and a two-dollar leather case. You were told to give it a regular polish or it'd tarnish. It's easy to keep the metal bright and clean-but what about the men who carry it? "DRAGNET " 1967

In memory of George Stamouvlasis 1928-2013. Photo of a picture that was the center of a collage of George , family and friends.

George you will truly be missed. He immigrated to the U.S. from Greece. In 1965 he and his wife opened up Capitol Burgers on the corner of Pico Blvd and Victoria Ave, in Los Angeles. He served up the best pastrami sandwiches, french fries/chili fries and chili dogs in town. The burgers were excellent but they took a back seat to his pastrami sandwiches. In my opinion "Johnny's Pastrami" in Mid-City - Los Angeles, and "Johnnie's Pastrami" in Culver City and "The Hat" in Pasadena and Simi Valley can't touch "Capitol Burgers" pastrami sandwiches.

George's family still runs the place, so drop by and say hello and grab a pastrami sandwich or burger or both.

Four years in uniform and you'll have the ability, the experience and maybe the desire to be a detective. If you like to fly by the seat of your pants, this is where you belong. For every crime that's committed, you've got three million suspects to choose from. And most of the time, you'll have few facts and a lot of hunches. You'll run down leads that dead-end on you. You'll work all-night stakeouts that could last a week. You'll do leg work until you're sure you've talked to everybody in the state of California.

People who saw it happen - but really didn't. People who insist they did it - but really didn't. People who don't remember - those who try to forget. Those who tell the truth - those who lie. You'll run the files until your eyes ache. ......

Well the show is over and everybody took off. Some went to cruise nite meet and greets others went on home or to grab late nite grub.

It was the first week of school after summer and some knuckle heads do a drive by on a group of teens walking down the street across from Crenshaw High. Two were hit but thankfully no one was killed.

The cowardly perpetrators that shot this young man don't need a reason.... Pay back.... mistaken identity.... wearing the wrong colors.... walking by your self..... walking in a group.....maybe he looked like a rival... so lets just Blast him any way..... what you looking at?..... hey lets not forget the young deaf woman and young deaf man that were gunned down when they were signing one another because the dumb ass thug thought they were throwing up gang signs. Our justice system is too slow, we need to execute these cold blooded murderers, execute them even if their victim lives so they can't contaminate the rest of the planet, OHH I'm sorry did I say something politically incorrect? Ask me if I care.

Burden had Metropolis II's cars specially manufactured in China to his custom specifications — unlike Metropolis I, which just used off-the-shelf Hot Wheels toys. "The original toy cars have very thin axles that wear out too fast," says Burden. Given that Metropolis II is supposed to run three days a week for the next 10 years, how will it avoid the "wearing out" problem? Burden's no-nonsense answer: "We made a lot of cars."

Don't you con me with your mind-expansion slop. I deal with kids every day. I try to clean up the mess that people like you make out of 'em. I'm the expert here. You're not.

The UPF(United in Peace Foundation) hosted a Peace Ride on July 28 in memory of the slain Florida teen Trayvon Martin.

Hundreds of Bikers, lowriders /classic cars & Corvette club road from the Leimert Park area to Magic Johnson Park. The ride was also dedicated to the thousands of mothers and fathers whose youngsters have been gunned down in senseless violence throughout the country.

A fire broke out early Friday morning (4/26/13) about 2 am at the Bethesda Temple Apostolic Church in the Windsor Hills / Leimert Park area on the 4900 block of Crenshaw Blvd. Residence near by said they heard an explosion. It took 80 firefighters a little under an hour to put the fire out. The main building was completely gutted by the fire. The south wing of the church facility and Bethesda Senior apartments/home next door suffered little or no damage. LAFD Arson Investigators, FBI and the ATF are still looking into the cause, but fire officials say the fire does not appear to be criminal in nature, and there are no signs of foul play at this time. 7 months earlier I was just two blocks east and got pictures of another church fire in the HYDE PARK area at 11th Ave. & 48th st. Galilee Baptist Church was completely gutted by a fire. I still can't get a clear answer as to what caused that fire. If anyone knows for certain please leave a comment.

Bo Daddy's BBQ commissioned the art work in the parking lot.

While cruzing the Blvd. a motorscooter kop's Remington 870 Pump action pistol grip Shotgun disengaged from the locking mechanism on the bikes rack and fell into the street in the area of Bronson Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard in LAPD’s Southwest Division. The gun was picked up by a bystander and he took off running with it and a large LAPD search and destroy mission ensued .... I mean a large search ensued and suspect was later caught and the shotgun retrieved.

EL REY TACOS my favorite place to go when I crave a gr8 burrito or taco. I usually get the Combination which is beef, bean, cheese and red sauce burrito with extra cheese and onions. If you ever ate at the Pup N' Taco back in the 60's and 70s you more then likely had their killer Combination burrito, well EL REYS taste just like it. Taco Bell and del Taco don't have a clue how to make good food, in my humble opinion, lol. It's a mystery to me why T. BELL & Del are still in business.
