Nice rydes spotted in the wild while filming. BACK IN TIME 1969

View from US Bank Tower observation deck.

Old bank converted into a book store in Down Town soL selegnA.

The very name, “ The Last Book Store” conjures up thoughts of Ray Bradbury’s novel “Fahrenheit 451” The book shows a dark future where western society has outlawed BOOKS and firemen confiscate & burn books. Or scenes from the Twilight Zone episode, The Obsolete Man written by Rod Serling, presents a future America where a librarian is put on trial and executed for reading and keeping books and believing in God.

In parts of the world past and present it is just that bad and here in America (which has done it’s share) we have to constantly be vigilant coz flawed as mankind is, if not careful we can find ourselves warming our hands over a bonfire of books, records & CDs we may consider subversive or inflammatory.

Found some more photos taken with my old ROLLEI ROLLIFLEX 35 MM SLR of the '92 L. A. Riots, laying in a box. I can kick myself that I didn't sneak a few shots with my camera while the mayhem was going on. I was busy ducking and dodging and running red lights to avoid trouble. Almost all the pictures you see were taken on the third day of the riots when the authorities started to gain control.

I tip my hat to the journalist that were in the thick of it, they got some fantastic shots.

Canadians protested Bill C-51 on March 14, 2015 in cities across the country.

The proposed Bill C-51 legislation should be of concern to all Canadians. It would clearly allow for the violation of Charter Rights, facilitate spying on innocent Canadians, and create a secret police force with little oversight or accountability.

We are demanding the government withdraw the legislation. We are further demanding that any subsequent legislation meet with rigorous public dialogue prior to being tabled.

The government is about to ram through a "secret police" Bill C-51 that is:

1. Reckless: It turns CSIS into a ‘secret police’ force with little oversight or accountability.

2. Dangerous: It opens the door for violations of our Charter Rights including censorship of free expression online.

3. Ineffective: It will lead to dragnet surveillance and information sharing on innocent Canadians that even Stephen Harper has admitted is ineffective.

On March 14, people gathered in communities across Canada for an emergency day of action to stop the government’s "secret police" law.

And to think I use to sit in this parking structure some days and eat lunch in my car.

The epicenter, Northridge and my place of work, Sears Automotive, I had to work at another location for a spell until the place was up and running. Customers were pretty angry to say the least coz there were a few cars left over for repair work to be done the next day. I think they were stuck in there for almost 3 weeks.

(Person of interest cuffed but unclear if this was the perpetrator) While cruzing the Blvd. a motorscooter kop's Remington 870 Pump action pistol grip Shotgun disengaged from the locking mechanism on the bikes rack and fell into the street in the area of Bronson Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard in LAPD’s Southwest Division. The gun was picked up by a bystander and he took off running with it and a large LAPD search and destroy mission ensued .... I mean a large search ensued and suspect was later caught and the shotgun retrieved.

It was the first week of school after summer and some knuckle heads do a drive by on a group of teens walking down the street across from Crenshaw High. Two were hit but thankfully no one was killed.

The cowardly perpetrators that shot this young man don't need a reason.... Pay back.... mistaken identity.... wearing the wrong colors.... walking by your self..... walking in a group.....maybe he looked like a rival... so lets just Blast him any way..... what you looking at?..... hey lets not forget the young deaf woman and young deaf man that were gunned down when they were signing one another because the dumb ass thug thought they were throwing up gang signs. Our justice system is too slow, we need to execute these cold blooded murderers, execute them even if their victim lives so they can't contaminate the rest of the planet, OHH I'm sorry did I say something politically incorrect? Ask me if I care.

Wishing on a Star is a Eco-kinetic solar sculpture created by Charles Dickson out of his Compton art studio. He was my art teacher back in the day when I was a teen attending his classes in Watts and Compton. This beautiful work is made with many discarded items from engine and automotive suspension parts to rebar and computer and kitchen utensils and other scrap metal and glass.

Hyundai Santa Fe T-bones BMW at high rate of speed at intersection and damages two parked vehicles.

NOTE: THE LAST OF THE GOOD POLICE CARS A FORD CROWN VICTORIA

I thought the future meant things get better as time goes on, NEW AND IMPROVED. We seem to be going backwards. look at the two tin cans that slammed into each other in these photos. Fortunately there were only minor injuries. If you see my photos of the other 1996 and newer tin can vehicle accidents almost everybody suffered major injuries or were killed.

Burden had Metropolis II's cars specially manufactured in China to his custom specifications — unlike Metropolis I, which just used off-the-shelf Hot Wheels toys. "The original toy cars have very thin axles that wear out too fast," says Burden. Given that Metropolis II is supposed to run three days a week for the next 10 years, how will it avoid the "wearing out" problem? Burden's no-nonsense answer: "We made a lot of cars."

The Brown Stone Lofts soon to be open. In the 30’s and 40’s, The Brownstone was the place to be and be seen. Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra and countless others stayed and played here. Anthony Quinn lived in Suite 318.

While out and about racing up and down the streets of L.A. running my errands, I crossed paths with a movie set crew a couple of times on Angeles Vista Blvd in the View Park / Windsor Hills area while headed back to my domicile in the Diablo Mesa dark side of town. I popped off some photos and did a little of the- "get outta here you don't belong"- snooping around. Then LO AND BEHOLD !! some Paparazzi show up after I start taking photos randomly. The one celeb I caught was a crappy job on my part trying to get a shot of Joey King in a pink wig. Of course the people that knew what they were looking for got all the good stuff. I think the photo I got of the young lady is a double for Joey King. Those that follow this stuff can correct me if I'm wrong. In the actual shoot they replace the double with Joey & her pink wig. " Wish I was Here" will be out in Sept. 2014

This was Rod Davis Firestone Tire store at the corner of Crenshaw and 52nd St. Later relocated to Centinela and Manchester in the Westchester area near LAX. Closed down now.

(I recently found a bunch of old photos, mainly pre-digital, on an old CD-ROM. It was interesting looking back at the emergence of the "Miss K" character during the 90s. Here are a few of the ones that caught my eye...)

This picture sucks. Har de har.

It was taken in April 1999. Six Inch Killaz had (unknown to us at the time) just played our last gig. It was our one and only gig as a four piece after sacking Jasmine for well documented reasons.

The band drifted apart and we eventually called it a day couple of months afterwards.

I have trouble sleeping after getting home from playing gigs. I'm often awake, enervated and full of nervous energy (and booze) and I have developed the bizzarre, narcissistic habit, which persists today, of pointing the camera drunkenly at myself and taking shots like this one.

This night was when that habit commenced.

That's the end of the stroll down memory lane. I hope I didn't outstay my welcome.

What going through these memories has done is made me want to dress again after a very long time...

I was lucky enough to see The Fall on nine occasions (the tenth was cancelled owing to Mark's ill health). I didn't feel a single memorial photograph was enough to remember the man and the band that meant so much to me, so over the next few days I will upload one photo from each of those gigs (in no particular order), along with the relevant set list. There's a lyric quotation with each one too - not necessarily from a song that was performed at that gig, but just one that meant something to me, or made me laugh.

Under The Bridge, Chelsea - 10th June 2014.

Set list: The Remainderer / Cowboy George / Bury / White Lightning / Pledge / Sir William Wray / Mister Rode / I've Been Duped / Strychnine / Hittite Man / Blindness / Theme from Sparta F.C.
