Thomas Emmett, Dodgems
Campbell Park, Milton Keynes, 20 October 2019
The first time I have ever seen this load pulling on to Campbell Park as it usually makes the short six-mile journey from Emmetts' yard on Saturday and is largely built up by the time most other loads start arriving on Sunday. This year however it didn't turn up until 1:30 on Sunday afternoon.

Albert Smith (Leighton Buzzard), Dodgems
Campbell Park, Milton Keynes, 27 October 2013
Keith Emmett has reportedly sold his Deluxe Dodgems, and taking their place at Campbell Park this year is the vintage Supercar track owned by Albert Smith. This seems to be rarely seen at fairs as it mainly attends private events, and is a very traditional looking load carried on an eight-wheel frame lorry. The trailers appear to have been swapped from their normal configuration as these were carrying the registration of H620 GKK, while the latter lorry was towing a box trailer carrying this one's registration.
I don't know why, but this photo looks "American" in some way. I think the left side reminds me of a diner. Or perhaps I'm hallucinating from alcohol and lack of sleep.
Happy New Year!
Struggling to pick the cream of the crop here, please let know which of the 4 works best for you.
Thanks.
Helter Skelter
This ride was also know as Slip was travelled by the Ayres Family before it came to the Museum. It is the last Helter Skelter to be built by Supercar of Warwickshire before WWII
Supercar specialised in making Dodgem cars post WWII, they went on to apply the technology to building Spifire components to the construction of lightweight alluminium alloy Dogem cars

Sid Lendrum, Dodgems
Fringford, 31 July 2006
The Lendrum family travel a small non-Guild fair around the villages of Oxfordshire and are one of the hardest to track down, but I stumbled across them in Fringford in 2006, either during build up or pull down.

Charlie Appleton, on loan to John Bugg
Kettering, 30 June 2011
John Bugg is the lessee of the Kettering Feast Fair for the firm of John Thurston & Son, and is presenting his fold-up dodgem track there. One of his tractor units seems to be off the road as the same lorry did two runs to collect both loads from Cambridge, and here at Kettering is the unusual sight of Charlie Appleton's Volvo coupled to John's dodgem car trailer.

Thomas Emmett, Dodgems
Campbell Park, Milton Keynes, 25 October 2015
Emmetts seem to have a fleet of ex-haulage trailers still in their previous owners' colours to transport their rides. The dodgem track was hauled to Campbell Park in this stepframe curtainsider purchased from the Wickes DIY chain, pulled by Thomas's maid of all work Iveco.

Keith Emmett, Deluxe Dodgems
Campbell Park, Milton Keynes, 7 November 2011
To transport the dodgem track he bought from Guyatts last year Keith Emmett built this ERF frame lorry and trailer. It was put into use without a repaint and with the trailer as a basic framework, but this has now been panelled in and the complete outfit painted into Emmetts' corporate green. All signwriting and lining is hand-painted in the traditional style and each side of the cab carries a different name: Keith Emmett Snr on the front, Keith Emmett Jnr on the offside and Keith Emmett III on the nearside, plus "My Girl" on the grille, reflecting all of the generations of the family now being involved in the business.

Marshall Nichols has recently acquired a second Volvo FH and has put this one to work pulling the main load of his Dodgems. It is almost identical to the other one, but the livery is slightly different as Mark Steadman's red stripe has been overpainted in maroon.
