This was from the morning gathering at the lek* - these are Lesser Prairie Chickens (they don't have as much brown in them). They share territory in some areas.
*A Lek is a hill/or rise area where birds and animals gather to do their courting and sparking!

Les marmottes adorent le lever du soleil au petit matin, c'est un moment privilégié où elles prennent la pose pour les amateurs de nature (en billebaude) qui passent par là .

Trying to get as much as possible from a direct look. No dreamy reds and dark, mysterious sun disks here. Just light, widely seen.

The direct stare of a SIka stag commands respect. Native to much of East Asia, the Sika Deer is also known as the 'Spotted' or 'Japanese Deer', 'Shika' being Japanese for 'Deer'. The population in Dorset is believed to have swam here from nearby Brownsea Island. The coat of this male is tending towards the dark grey winter coat rather than the chestnut red with whitish spots of summr.

Direct sunlight reflected by face and camera, then via a mirror reflected back to the camera that registers only the strength of light, not its colours. The three points of interaction between photons and surfaces (face/camera, mirror, lens/sensor) must have reduced and modified the incoming light. Even when not taking into account that the final image becomes an image only when constructed in our brain, on a purely physical level the image can not possibly be a full representation of what is out there. It is a diminished representation - not of what "is" out there, but what "has been". Time is passing. The moment has gone. Photography is totally different from, say, painting. In painting, the act of painting is always in the present tense and the light is not received, it is created. Leica M246 Mono, Voigtlander AS 2.8/90, Olympus electronic viewfinder.
Today I'm combining my floral greeting with a memory and a view.
This photo was taken last summer on the Kaiserkrone (Imperial Crown) in Saxon Switzerland. The view, when it manages to get past the blooming heather and the trees, is directed towards the Lilienstein, near which the sun will soon set.
As beautiful as I find the Kaiserkrone, especially when the heather is in bloom, I've found it difficult to create harmonious compositions here. Somehow, the photos always seemed far too chaotic, which is also true of this one. That's why I haven't shown these pictures to anyone until now.
But I think this evening atmosphere definitely deserves to be seen. So I'll just have to live with a little chaos now. And I'm learning that something is valuable, even, or perhaps especially, because it isn't perfect.
I'll leave that last sentence for all of us and wish you a happy week.
Heute verknüpfe ich mal meinen Blumengruß mit einer Erinnerung und einer Aussicht.
Dieses Foto entstand im Sommer letzten Jahres auf der Kaiserkrone in der Sächsischen Schweiz. Der Blick, wenn er es denn mal an der blühenden Erika und den Bäumen vorbei geschafft hat, geht in Richtung des Liliensteins, in dessen Nähe in Kürze die Sonne untergehen wird.
So schön wie ich die Kaiserkrone auch empfinde, vor allem, wenn die Heide blüht, so schwer ist es mir gefallen hier harmonische Bildkompositionen zu kreieren. Irgenwie waren mir die Fotos immer viel zu chaotisch, was übrigens auch auf dieses hier zu trifft. Darum habe ich diese Bilder auch bis heute noch niemandem gezeigt.
Doch ich finde, dass diese abendliche Atmospäre es durchaus verdient gesehen zu werden. Da muss ich mit ein wenig Chaos jetzt eben leben. Und ich darf lernen, dass etwas wertvoll ist, auch, oder vielleicht gerade weil, es nicht perfekt ist.
Den letzten Satzt lass ich für uns alle jetzt mal so stehen und wünsche Euch eine fröhliche Woche.
The legendary King Arthur has a direct association with the Castle Rocks of St John, courtesy of Sir Walter Scott’s epic poem of 1813, Bridal of Triermain. The poem tells the story of a young knight named Roland de Vaux who falls in love with a mysterious woman named Gyneth, who is revealed to be a fairy queen. The story takes place in the scenic Vale of St. John, near the town of Triermain. Gwyneth resides in the castle there (Castle Rock).
Synopsis of the poem:
The Bridal of Triermain interweaves three stories, all with a Lake District setting: the eighteenth-century courtship of Arthur and Lucy, the Arthurian Legend of 'Lyulph's Tale', and the twelfth-century romance of Sir Roland de Vaux.
In order to warn his aristocratic lover Lucy against excessive maidenly pride, the low-born poet Arthur recites 'Lyulph's Tale' in cantos I-II. He tells how how King Arthur is seduced by the enchantress Guendolen. When he abandons the pregnant Guendolen to resume his kingly duties, she swears revenge. Sixteen years later, the fruit of their union, Gyneth appears at Camelot to remind Arthur of his promise that should he and Guendolen produce a daughter, she would wed the bravest of the Knights of the Round Table. Arthur declares a tournament with Gyneth's hand as the prize but instructs her to halt the combat before lives are lost. As the instrument of her mother's wrath, however, she does nothing to end the ferocious fighting, until Merlin arises from a chasm in the ground to punish her. She is sentenced to slumber in Guendolen's enchanted castle until awakened by a knight as brave as any of the Round Table.
The poet Arthur's courtship of Lucy proves successful and, following their marriage, Lucy begs him to tell of Gyneth's fate. In the third and final canto, then, he recounts the quest of the twelfth-century knight Sir Roland de Vaux of Triermain. He has heard Gyneth's legend and sets out to find the enchanted castle. Having located it in the Valley of Saint John, he successfully passes through a series of allegorical dangers and temptations (Fear, Avarice, Sensuality, Ambition) to awaken Gyneth from her five hundred-year sleep and win her hand.

Leadership and development of tomorrows leaders today. They volunteer throughout the year for many events. They do much of there volunteering working with veterans.
Under an immense canopy of pristine, cinematic blue, the desert stretches out in smooth, undulating waves of pale amber, carved by unseen winds into elegant, minimalist slopes.
Rising like a rugged monument from this sea of shifting grains is a chaotic cluster of weathered boulders. Their surfaces etched with the deep, fractured history of thermal stress and desert time display a rich palette of charcoal greys and oxidized rust reds.
Harsh, blazing sunlight casts crisp, dramatic shadows across the sand, anchoring these stony monoliths to the earth and imbuing the scene with a profound, silent tension between the ephemeral and the eternal.
A vast desert landscape with a rocky outcrop situated amidst sandy dunes under a clear blue sky. Fine, light-colored sand forms gently sloping dunes that are dynamically shaped by wind action.
A distinct cluster of weathered boulders and smaller rocky debris emerges from the sand. These stones show varying colors from dark grey to reddish-brown, indicative of varying mineral compositions and exposure to desert weathering processes
The rocky outcrop acts as the primary visual anchor, broken up into distinct shapes and tones that contrast sharply with the uniform sand. Subtle wind ripples and shadows in the foreground sand draw the viewer's eye diagonally upward toward the central rocks.
The large, uninterrupted areas of sky and smooth sand create a strong sense of isolation and scale. The deep blue of the sky contrasts beautifully with the warm, golden-beige tones of the desert sand.
The harsh, direct sunlight creates deep, sharp shadows behind the stones, adding three-dimensional depth to an otherwise flat landscape. The rocks display a mix of cool greys and warm rust-reds, preventing the central subject from looking monochromatic.
The image thrives on the contrast between the soft, fluid texture of the wind-swept sand dunes and the hard, jagged, weathered surfaces of the boulders.
Scattered smaller stones in the mid-ground bridge the gap between the smooth foreground sand and the dense central pile.

La véritable photographie ICM est une manière créative de photographier qui implique la technique des mouvements intentionnels de votre appareil photo pendant l’exposition !
Quant à sa manipulation dans Photoshop pour obtenir l’effet ICM, elle est souvent rejetée par les vrais photographes ICM !!!
Souvent, les gens veulent savoir les paramètres, comment est réalisée la photographie ICM en demandant les données EXIF d’une image spécifique qu’ils ont vue en ligne, dans l’espoir de reproduire la même photo !
Mais le problème est que dans le domaine de la photographie ICM, les données EXIF (les données montrant les paramètres de l’appareil photo pendant l’exposition) n’ont aucun sens sans savoir quelle intensité et quelle direction de mouvement a été appliquée, quelles étaient les conditions d’éclairage et si oui, quel filtre ND a été utilisé !
Et surtout, quel était l’objectif du photographe ?
Dans la pratique, la meilleure façon de se familiariser avec la technique ICM est de régler son appareil photo sur une sensibilité ISO et une ouverture fixes, en utilisant un filtre ND de votre choix, comme par ex. un ND64, et commencez simplement à prendre des photos en utilisant un seul objet avec pas trop de vitesses d’obturation différentes, et d’intensité et/ou de direction de mouvement différentes …
La comparaison des résultats pourrait vous donner une idée de la manière d’aborder vos prochains clichés 🤔
Sachez que maîtriser la technique ICM est souvent une question d’essais et d’erreurs, et cela peut prendre des dizaines de photos pour obtenir le résultat souhaité !
Ne soyez pas surpris si vous rentrez à la maison avec plus de 100 clichés pris, n’en laissant qu’une petite poignée répondant à vos critères 😕

In DC Comics, Poison Ivy (Dr. Pamela Isley) is an eco-terrorist whose intense conflicts typically stem from her mission to eradicate humanity or industrial civilization to make room for plant life.
Looking strictly at the comic books, her most profound and recurring conflicts have been with three heroes.
Batman (Bruce Wayne) Batman is Poison Ivy's primary and most enduring adversary.
Their conflict is rooted in a fundamental ideological clash: Batman fights to protect Gotham’s human population and societal order, while Ivy views humanity as a cancer destroying the Earth's ecosystem.
From her very first appearance (Batman #181 in 1966), where she attempted to poison the Dynamic Duo, to massive storylines like Knightfall (where she paralyzed half of Gotham with mind-controlling spores) and Fear State, Batman has constantly been the one to thwart her extreme eco-terrorist plots.
Despite occasional moments of temporary truce or psychological nuance, and the fact that Batman is famously immune to her pheromone toxins, their relationship remains defined by decades of intense, ideological warfare.
Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) While Batgirl shares a broad "Bat-Family" rivalry with Ivy, Barbara Gordon has a uniquely intense, direct history of conflict with her across multiple eras (both as Batgirl and as Oracle leading the Birds of Prey).
Barbara’s razor-sharp intellect and cybernetic/tactical readiness make her uniquely suited to counter Ivy's biochemical manipulations.
Their conflicts have spanned classic Batman and Detective Comics runs, as well as team books like Birds of Prey, where Ivy has frequently targeted Barbara or the city infrastructure Barbara fights to protect, leading to intense physical and psychological showdowns.
Superman (Clark Kent) In DC Comics, Poison Ivy’s interactions with Superman primarily revolve around her biochemical manipulation and mind control, turning the Man of Steel into an unwitting weapon or hostage.
Because Ivy’s power stems from pheromones, botanical toxins, and connection to The Green (the cosmic force connecting all plant life), she can bypass Superman's physical invulnerability.
In Hush, Ivy travels to Metropolis and uses a special strain of synthesized Kryptonite-laced pheromones to enslave Superman’s mind.
Under Ivy's hypnotic spell, Superman acts as her personal bodyguard and enforcer. When Batman and Catwoman track Ivy down to a Metropolis sewer hideout, Ivy sends a fully brainwashed Superman to kill Batman.
Batman is forced to use a Kryptonite ring to survive, stalling Superman long enough to break Ivy’s hold. Batman realizes that Superman is subconsciously holding back because his core morality is fighting Ivy’s command.
Ultimately, Batman triggers Superman's protective instinct by threatening a real disaster (having Lois Lane dropped off a building), which snaps Superman out of Ivy’s mind control completely.
