Belvoir Castle is a historic castle and stately home in Leicestershire, situated 6 miles west from the town of Grantham and 10 miles northeast of Melton Mowbray. The castle sits on high ground overlooking the Vale of Belvoir, the Norman French translation of belle voir in English means 'beautiful view'.
The castle is the home of the Manners Family (Dukes of Rutland), whose direct male ancestor inherited it in 1508.
A castle was built on this site shortly after the Norman Conquest of 1066, several rebuilts took place over the centuries until the current Grade I listed mock castle, dating from the early 19th century.
The current building was built to a design by architect James Wyatt in a romantic Gothic Revival style and was mostly complete by 1832. It contains works of art by famous painters such as Holbein, Stubbs and Gainsborough and a suite of opulant state rooms

Sinds December 2023 worden de Protos en Flirt treinstellen van Keolis van de Valleilijn onderhouden bij Brouwer Techniek locatie Roosendaal. Omdat de werkplaats niet elektrisch te bereiken is worden de letterlijke laatste meters afgelegd achter een Locomotor van 2454Crew, meestal de 232. Op 2 januari 2024 heeft Sik 232 zojuist Flirt 5038 naar buiten getrokken en de Keolis machinist is direct begonnen het treinstel klaar te maken voor de grote reis naar Amersfoort.

Lejos de mostrar ningún tren en este encuadre, que me gustaría, voy a escribir unas cuantas lineas sobre el tremendo enfado que obtuve al visitar esta estación abandonada.
En primer lugar, el edificio de la estación en sí, saqueado hasta más poder, cristales rotos y un interior que daba pena, no me atreví a entrar por seguridad, pero el exterior daba asco, asco no a la estación en sí, sino a quien tuvo la gran idea de cerrar esta linea.
Andando por las vías dirección Madrid, veo que la señal de salida tenía ASFA y que los cambios son electrónicos, para flipar, modernidad a tope en una linea abandonada. Incluso llegué a ver tornillos de traviesas que no tenían ni 10 años. ¿Cómo puede una linea tan moderna estar abandonada?
El estado de la vía era bueno, traviesas de hormigón, ya os digo que el Directo de Cuenca esta infinitamente peor y no paraba de preguntarme en mi cabeza como cojones esta abandonado esto. El enfado era tremendo. Me hago unas cuantas fotos en aquel lado y atravieso hacía el otro lado, dirección Burgos, nuevamente traviesas de hormigón, moderno todo y atravesamos el túnel nº 10 de esta linea, aparentemente, en buen estado y con muy pocas filtraciones y volvemos para la estación a coger el autobús que nos llevara a Madrid, porque tren no hay...ni se le espera gracias a nuestros queridos políticos. No sabía que la linea más rápida entre Madrid y Burgos para los políticos es la Imperial y no esto, flipante.
El paisaje de 10 y me encantó venir hasta aquí. Me quedé con ganas de más, de mucho más, de descubrir el Directo entero, pero lo haré. Lástima que no llevaba el coche. Volveré.

Our latest little buck (I think) in the backyard - his mother was nearby and they went off together. Phew - I thought he was an orphan for a while there and now he just might survive the winter with her guidance.
The direct sun back-lit the bicycle and created the shadows. It also bounced off of the wall and window behind me and illuminated the golden rims.
When it comes to finding your path. Don't overthink. Do.

On the other side of the fence, Mr. Zoom and I crossed the street to get a better look at the building from which we'd just escaped. I was happy to see that Mr. Z's eyes were clear again. He asked if I still had the paper I'd pulled out of the one-fingered hand. I patted the pockets of my pants. Yes! But only part of it.
We stood huddled together, trying to find a clue in the words. If we were to believe the Statue of Liberty, Demi only had to look for the signs to find her other half. Originally we were just humoring Demi, helping her with her quest. But now we felt that if we followed the signs we might find her.
Part of a headline remained. We read it together at the same time...out loud.

A bit of wind ruffled the paper in my hand and my eyes were struck by the words etched in the sidewalk.

It's been a while since I had my last upload with a power tower. I guess some 5 days ago? I like how big they seem here and how the wires are kinda pressurize the whole picture.
Today I have been learning the entire day for my 1st examen tomorrow morning and I am going to continue, too. So I won't be flickering around tonight, but I am most likely catching up tomorrow.
I took this shot back in January. Dunno, I haven't found anything better today.
Direct Rail Services (DRS) 37218 stands with 4 Ex-Anlgia liveried Mk2s in the Ely Goods Loop, working the 5Z29 1527 Burton Ot Wetmore Sidings to Wymondham Sidings. The 4 Mk2s were bound for the Mid Norfolk Railway for use on the Santa Specials.
