On Saturday 28th September 2019, Direct Rail Services 66431 drifts effortlessly down the grade at Docker heading the 10:26 Grangemouth Docks F.P.A. to Daventry Tesco intermodal, a recently introduced service offering for the customer.

On the other side of the fence, Mr. Zoom and I crossed the street to get a better look at the building from which we'd just escaped. I was happy to see that Mr. Z's eyes were clear again. He asked if I still had the paper I'd pulled out of the one-fingered hand. I patted the pockets of my pants. Yes! But only part of it.
We stood huddled together, trying to find a clue in the words. If we were to believe the Statue of Liberty, Demi only had to look for the signs to find her other half. Originally we were just humoring Demi, helping her with her quest. But now we felt that if we followed the signs we might find her.
Part of a headline remained. We read it together at the same time...out loud.

Huh? City's Demise was a good guess as to the rest of the headline. But what about the beginning?
A bit of wind ruffled the paper in my hand and my eyes were struck by the words etched in the sidewalk.

Mr. Zoom and I looked at each other, puzzled, and in a way, more frightened than we were with the Bruce Lee look-alike bearing down on us. Could the partial headline and these odd words have a connection to each other....and to Demi?

The Culloden Viaduct, known also as the Nairn Viaduct or the Clava Viaduct is a railway viaduct on the Highland Main Line, to the east of the city of Inverness, in the Highland council area of Scotland.
It was opened in 1898 as part of the Inverness and Aviemore Direct Railway, which was built by the Highland Railway. The 29 span viaduct crosses the wide valley of the River Nairn. At 1800 ft (549 m) in length, it is the longest masonry viaduct in Scotland.

A Star Wars walker based on the "All Terrain Attack Pod." I gave it more traditional Imperial looking legs and, out of appreciation for kitbash, appropriated WWII German equipment, namely, the 88 Pak 43 gun and the Panzer II turret.

In February two changes took place on the line between Wesel and Bocholt. Firstly the operator changed from Abellio NRW to VIAS after Abellio pulled out of their contracts in NRW. Secondly, the newly electrified line was opened which means that the LINT DMU's have been replaced with the electric FLIRT's. Bocholt now enjoys a direct connection to Düsseldorf Hbf as service RE19 now couples up with the RE19 from Arnhem to travel together to Düsseldorf.

Aquest és el cas del Talgo MareNostrum i l’Estrella Costa Brava, que veuran retallat el seu trajecte fins a Barcelona, o com els Tren Hotel Joan Miró i Francisco de Goya, que deixaran de circular. A la foto, el Talgo MareNostrum arribant a la ciutat comtal amb deu minuts de retard, entrant al mateix temps que un dels AVE que uneix Figueres amb Madrid.
La entrada de los servicios de Alta Velocidad entre Barcelona y París implicará la supresión y recortes de trayecto a algunos trenes internacionales. I know this is not a political platform. But war is hell, regardless. A drop of concentrated developer right into the exhausted lith developer brings out a chemical reaction similar to the explosion of a drone strike, a missile hit or whatever your mind can imagine hitting defenceless civilians (or soldiers for that matter). People die in Europe because of this. Every day.

En cette fin de journée du 12 avril 2016, un puissant orage isolé s'est formé sur le sud du Gers pour prendre ensuite la direction de Toulouse. En adoptant des caractéristiques supercellulaires, cet orage a offert une structure nuageuse remarquable pour un début de saison.

Direct Rail Services Class 66 diesel locomotive 66424 "Driver Paul Scrivens 1969-2021" attracts the attention of spotters as it basks in the afternoon winter sunshine at Stafford station having arrived as 0Z66 from Crewe Gresty Bridge where it would return 10 minutes after arrival.
I thought it would be fun to show the direct comparison between two similar setups!

I took a shot of this striped lynx (Oxyopes salticus) mama the other day using my Vivitar (Komine) 90mm f2.8 1:1 Macro. Today, I found the same gorgeous girl still guarding her egg clutch, so I snapped a remarkably similar shot using my Phoenix (Cosina) 100mm f3.5 1:2 Macro paired with a 2x Macro Focusing Teleconverter.
Right away, you can see the difference in color reproduction. The word I keep finding is "flat". The depth of the greens, and the subtle undertones of the browns and darker shades are just missing! This Phoenix lens is a really stellar lens, but can't compare frame-for-frame with the Komine 90mm. It's also worth noting the overall level of clarity!
When you zoom in, you can start to see the difference in resolving power pretty clearly. The Phoenix does a darn good job for a stack of glass in a plastic shell, but the shot captured using my Komine a few days back is much sharper on individual details. Both shots are captured at 1:1, but magnification rate does not always mean the image is worth magnifying!
Of course, both of these lens setups are literally decades behind the times and rendered fully obsolete by modern mirrorless cameras, insane 15 frames per second burst modes, and focus peaking, but it's fun to show the budget side of the hobby! You can 100% capture worthwhile images without modern gear and guided trips, you just have to learn your equipment!
This comparison was brought to you at 1:1 by my plastic fantastic Phoenix (Cosina) 100mm f3.5 Macro, attached to a Vivitar 2x Macro Focusing Teleconverter. This photo is uncropped. This lovely little lady is around 6-7mm long!

Some people say that Gen Y or Z or whatever target this 15 year old represents are self-centred and not interested in others in any way, From my direct observation, either this kid must be unrepresentative, or people are wrong.
I was so impressed with his stunt riding while my 6-year old was in the playground next door that I asked him if I could photograph him - and the outcome was that he was delighted to help me and made the effort to make sure I got the picture I previsualised. Many thanks to you, whoever you are.
