Direct Rail Services Class 68 68022 "Resolution" cruises through University with the 08:29 Swindon to Scarborough "York Moors Explorer". It was good to see an almost entirely BR blue and grey formation of loco hauled stock on a route that doesn't see much of it, this rake consisting mainly of Mark 2s with a Mark 1 kitchen vehicle. However, there was a single Anglia Mk 2 towards the end of the train.
Direct Rail Services (DRS) 57301 'Goliath' drags Great Northern 365501 and 365505 pass Ely working the 5Q65 1106 Hornsey E.M.U.D. to Ely Mlf Papworth Sidings. The two BREL 365s were going to Ely Papworth Sidings for storage.
Direct Rail Services Class 57s 57305 "Northern Princess" and 57301 cruise through Barnt Green with the 13:53 (2 early) early 6M56 Berkeley C.E.G.B to Crewe Coal sidings (Drs) nuclear flask flat. This working hasn't run loaded in a long time and even more unusual was the fact that the train in the preceeding block was also a flask train...
December 2019 saw Kilkenny gain an NTA City service,operating on 2 routes:
KK1-Loughboy Retail Park-N77 Roundabout,
KK2-Purcellinsch-St Lukes Hospital
Both operating half hourly.
Services are operated by the Galway based City Direct,using 4 Wright Streetlights.192-G-1613 swings onto Johns Bridge on a Northbound KK1 working.

DRS Class 66 66432 passes Rugeley TV with the 1200 Crewe Basford Hall to Cliff Hill Stud Farm Quarry on 15th August 2019
Direct Rail Services 68019 'Brutus' pauses at Lowestoft, prior to working Abellio Greater Anglia's 2J77 to Norwich, calling only at Oulton Broad North. Trailing was 68018 'Vigilant'. 12/04/17.

Direct Rail Services Class 37/4 37409 'Lord Hinton' diesel-electric locomotive approaches St.Bees station on the Cumbrian coast railway line with Northern's 2C34 the 14:35 Carlisle to Barrow-in-Furness passenger service. Class mate 37688 'Kingmoor TMD' is on the rear of this train.

Direct Rail Services class 68 no. 68017 leads the Northern Belle set and 68016 down the slow line at Nuneaton on 22nd May 2016 with 5Z29 Acton Lane-> Crewe HS empty coaching stock move having been used on UK Railtours' 'The Welsh Dragon' over the weekend.
The class 68s are mixed traffic locomotives and were ordered from Vossloh in 2012 by Direct Rail Services. The locomotives are fitted with a 3,800 hp Caterpillar engine and are of Bo-Bo design. 25 locomotives will eventually built and the first examples were delivered into the UK in January 2014. 68001-15 are in the country, 68010-68015 will soon be working on the London Marylebone-> Birmingham Moor Street services replacing the class 67s, these locomotives will carry the Chiltern Railways silver livery. Currently, the Chiltern 68s are slowly taking over, mostly appearing on the Banbury diagram. From 1st April 2015, the 68s are appearing on more and more diagrams. As of 11th May 2016, the 68s are fully deployed on Chiltern and enjoy a variety of work with DRS and also with Scotrail on the fife circle turn.
Direct Rail Services 37423 'Spirit of the Lakes' sits at Carnforth station whilst swapping Network Rail crew. The working is 1Q82 1632 Carlisle High Wapping Sdgs to Blackpool North and was seen here on Thursday the 23rd May 2019.

Direct Rail Services Class 37/4 37423 'Spirit of the Lakes' diesel-electric locomotive powers along the Cumbrian coast shortly after passing through the request stop Nethertown station with 5Z62 the 08:45 Carlisle Kingmoor to Carnforth. This is a crew training run for the forthcoming Northern Rail loco hauled passenger trains that are to start running in May using DRS Class 37/4 locos and MKII passenger stock.
L249YOD was a Mercedes 709D / Plaxton Beaver B25F new as Plymouth City Transport number 249 in August 1993. Ten years later it passed to Travel Direct, and is seen in Paisley. The combined Hill/Hutchison Group fleet comprised of 31 vehicles which were broken down as follows:-
Ann Hill t/a Fairway Coaches 5 buses
Raymond Hill t/a Fereneze Travel 8 buses
William Hutchison t/a Travel Direct 6 buses
Pheonix Buses 12 buses.
The actual vehicles could move from fleet to fleet as required.

Sister locos 37259, 37409 "Lord Hinton" and 37688 make up the quartet of 'Tractors', along with Class 57/0 No. 57010 which was collected from Derby en route.
