A teammate zoning out while sitting on a bench near the river. I used black and white to add to the idea of him zoning out
Feels a bit like cheating really but all I did was use the Diffuse Glow filter in CS5, adjusting the settings. Interesting how the filter seems to have more impact on the left hand flower rather than on the right one
Blown out highlight on the eye. Seems to be the only area affected. This tells me the eye is the most reflective part of the body. Also the second highlight is from direct sunlight, probably best to shoot in the shade.

Another test of my homemade flash diffuser. It worked really well in the field near our house to provide some nice, soft fill flash (-1.5 flash compensation)
On Thursday July 12 there was low cloud that resulted in a diffusion of the light from the sun so the crisp circular ball was not really evident. This image is about 5 minutes before sundown as the sun drifts northward into the valley between the buildings along 34th Street.
