Subtly patterned brown-and-yellow warbler (Setophaga palmarum), known for constantly bobbing its tail. Often forages on the ground, unlike most other warblers. Breeding plumage shows a rufous cap. In fall and winter, look for pale eyebrow and dark line through the eye, diffuse streaks on underparts, and bright yellow undertail coverts.

"It is not unusual to hear media weather reporters discuss the marine layer as if it were synonymous with the fog or stratus it may contain, but this is erroneous. In fact, a marine layer can exist with virtually no cloudiness of any kind, although it usually does contain some. The marine layer is a medium within which clouds may form under the right conditions; it is not the layers of clouds themselves."

Taken some weeks ago in the rain.

Love the diffuse and soft

I want to take another type of picture as I have done. Trying. That I find exciting for me😊and of course as usual😊

In the wonderful Mount Stewart garden, County Down, Northern Ireland. I used a small diffuser.

Another photo of Twenty mile river. The high clouds diffused the light from Anchorage and the northern lights. The milky way was peeking through the last bit of clear sky.

M. scalare can reach a length of 7–10 mm (0.28–0.39 in). These hoverflies have a shining black thorax. The males are longer and slimmer than the females. Also, the male's abdomen is much thinner than that of the female. Further, the yellow markings of the male are roundish or diamond-shaped, while those of the female are triangular patches.

Little is known of its biology, but it is suspected to be general predator of small insects in leaf litter. Adults fly from April to November and inhabit gardens, meadows, and flowering bushes where they feed. The larvae are aphidiphagous.

I came across a diffuser filter in the loft that I've had for many years and forgotten about, so just had to have a play.

It was a cool morning and the song sparrow was a bit fluffed out

while singing. Nice diffused light for photography.

Poole wetland, St.Albert, AB.

Two years ago the loon parents on the pond were nervous nellies - I could be 100m away in the kayak and they would already be showing signs of distress and anger. This year was completely different, which was awesome for photography.

This chick is probably only about 10 days old and I know it isn't more than 14 days because it wasn't hatched 14 days prior. Hence, I suspect the chick was nearing the end of "free rides".

This chick was a voracious eater. No matter how much food the parents fetched, this chick would gobble it down as if it had an empty stomach. Maybe that is why they were so unconcerned with me - it was stressful enough to keep up with the calorie demands of the chick and they didn't have the energy to worry about the guy floating in the "plastic log" nearby.

This was taken just before some light rain arrived. The wind had died, allowing for the reflection, and the light was diffuse. I was particularly happy with the catchlight in the eyes.

I walked out of our accommodation with camera in one had and dog in the other in a hurry completely forgetting my tripod.
