NiTEC’s diffused nickel plating process is the highest standard for corrosion resistance via the plating process. This method of nickel plating is so resistant to corrosion that it is suitable for marine environments. Mild steel plated using the diffused nickel plating process can be given a 30 year sub-sea guarantee.

With the diffuser as described on Instructables. Diffuse, but visible (just) shadows. Specular highlights, but bearable. Quite evenly lit. More light in the background than the ceiling bounce.

Using a cheap coffee filter to make a flash diffuser.

With all the DIY projects, I came upon this idea. Its probably been done before.

Notice the cool bling (cheap plastic bead bracelet) used to hold the coffee filter in place.

The shot is not white balanced but I just liked the idea of a coffee filter flash diffuser and wanted to post right away.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Trying to learn lighting basics but shooting anything that is transparent or clear glass is, the, most challenging. You need to get right background, highlights, edges of glass etc. Trying to learn from Strobist blog and plenty of other videos from Youtube.

For above shoot, used white paper behind & at base plus on camera right and left as well for reflections. Used Stofen Omni bounce diffuser on SB-600. Flash is held above bottle just outside frame and beam targeted behind on white paper. Although used custom (preset) whitebalance on D80, somehow image came out with bluish tint so need to find something else which is more pure white. I am definitely looking for acrylic sheet now....

Mickey Loves Oils- Young Living Essential Oils Diffuser Blends

There are so many things to love about cold, wintry days: curling up with a good book, sipping on hot chocolate, Netflix-ing in cozy sweaters, and warm blankets.

What we may not love are some of the other things associated with this weather, i.e., catching a cold or the flu, dry Winter air,...

For a long time I wanted to build a diffuser for my built-in flash and I finally managed to make it. I could certainly have bought an external flash or a light ring, but I decided I would do with what I have right now. Lighting possibilities in macro photography are infinite, the more you experiment different ones, the better it is. I know a lot of photographers currently use external flashes units because they are more powerful and easier to use with long lenses/extension tubes, but I'd like to see if I'm able to do the same work with the built-in flash.

I took this shot with a homemade diffuser made out of cardboard, aluminum foil and wax paper. The two first elements are used to create a reflective tunnel to able the light to travel to the front of a long lense. Then I made diffuser with wax paper. I figured out that with all this, and I think it's normal, you lose approximately one f/stop.

Compared to the stock flash, it works pretty well. I like it, but I'll try to make a larger diffuser next time.
