a total of just over $2.40 got me a very cheap gary fong imitation light diffuser! all of these are unedited pictures.

I butchered a £2 soft box from ebay and put a bent bit of plastic at the end from a drinks bottle. I lined the inside of the soft box with relective sheeting and on the back of the bent plastic I attached a triangular shaped reflector to bounce the flash away from the centre to avoid a hotspot. It seems to work quite well but needs more testing. I've only just started testing it out, with good results but it's quite awkward to remove from the flash without warping its shape.

Setting : ISO400-800|F11~16|1/200s~80s|AWB|+0.3~0.7EV|Shot in Raw
All pics are uncropped or slightly cropped to improve composition
Model shoot: Canon 1D 28-135 and Nikon D70s 80-200 . One Canon 580 exII with MILK JUG diffuser,( opposite of sunlight) assist with gold reflector for rim or fill.

Reflections off a distant rock, diffused into the night sky
Forgot my tripod plate, so this was handheld against the tripod for 13 seconds.
Cheated in photoshop with the skew command, to take out some pyramid distortion. Some day when I have more money than sense, I'll buy a tilt-shift.

Using Fstoppers diffuser on the key light. The reason for the need for the massive minus correction is of course the dark background, that will confuse the TTL matrix metering. Even the Fill Flash will contribute to lowering the output from the key light flash, provided that also this flash delivers a preflash for measuring - which I believe it does.
