on the banks of the ganga, no matter the time of the day, people are in different stages of dressed and undressed. sometimes you see the weirdest things but mostly you see devotion. this guy spent 10 minutes lovingly washing the vilva leaves before he started his morning prayers.

this was shot at Aluviharaya and Aluviharaya is situated around 26 kilometres from Sri Lanka's hill city of Kandy, Matale is home to an ancient rock temple known as the Alu Viharaya. Steeped in history and set amidst the area's striking natural landscape, this venerated site has great religious significance since it is where Lord Buddha's teachings which are known as the “Tipitika”, were first put down in writing.

this is one of the smaller orthodox churches in Sofia, but impressed me for the beautyful design and the athmosphere, you nearly can breath the true believe in this place of meditation
On the this night of Navaratri, we focus on goddess Maha-Gauri. She had done great penance on Earth to gain Shiva as Her husband, but in that process, Her skin had turned very dark. Pleased with Her devotion, Lord Shiva bathed Her in the holy water of the Ganges and Her skin became pure white.
She is the Mother of compassion and peace and reflects the great radiant light within us all. She helps to cleanse and purify the sincere devotees and bestows Her grace to take them to the Feet of the Lord.
Every night of Navaratri we perform a guru-puja, kalash-puja, yajna, abhishekam, and arati, as well as Divya Prabandham satsangs from different speakers and comments throughout the evening by Gurudev Himself.
As the wedding ceremonies have been conducted today, Paramahamsa Vishwananda highlighted the importance of having God as the focus in a relationship and that the duties a couple have are best performed when they are aimed at helping each other be the best devotees of the Lord..

Shaving head is done as an offering to the God at Tirupati - symbolizing humility to the Lord. Seen in Tirupati.
The abbey of Santa Anna in Camprena, founded in 1334. In the refectory there is a beautiful cycle of frescoes. dating from 1503-1504, the works of Antonio Bazzi, called Sodoma.

I saw this while driving down Garfield Avenue some time before Christmas and haven't had a chance to stop and photograph it until the other day. It caught my attention once I saw the flowers. They're wilted now but I can still feel the amount of devotion that was given for such an iconic image.
The painting is by a Chicano artist by the name of Israel Valenzuela. I have no other information about him other than that.
