North High School hosted the 2025 State of the Schools on Tuesday, Febraury 11th.
Superintendent Dr. Ian Roberts, Associate Superintendent Matt Smith and School Board Chair Jackie Norris celebrated major achievements and also called for major changes to education for students through the district’s Reimagining Education proposal.
“The Des Moines community’s hopes and desires for its most precious resource — its children — will be realized with our audacious and ambitious Reimagining Education plan,” Superintendent Dr. Ian Roberts said. “Our students and families deserve it, and the adults who serve them also deserve it.”
Reimagining Education at Des Moines Public Schools means providing the best education choices to prepare all students for successful futures.
With the aspirational goal of reimagining education and reinvigorating schools, this multi-year plan calls for major changes and improvements to enhance support for the educational outcomes of students in Des Moines.
While many school districts across the country face enrollment losses and funding shortfalls, DMPS is hard at work to find sustainable solutions that will improve outcomes for students, keep our great staff, and develop high-quality places for learning, benefitting all of Des Moines.

developed at fau, i wasnt sure of the times at all, and was rushing considering i dont even go to fau. the rushing caused me to misjudge the time developing, which screwed some of these up, but making some 'dream' like.

Away from the tourist areas and in the heart of the community is Claremont Park. Local people are volunteering to develop a wonderful community garden, rockery and wildflower orchard on the park next to Claremont Park Community Centre.
