John Fountain cabin expanding the deck. The north fork of the American River can be seen below. Notice the deck footings on the rocks. Some rock had to be sledge-hammered down. John liked to slam and nail boards. Gordon, a pro, liked to check that all was level. They argued about that. When all was done, John was able to sleep more at his cabin. He'd pick up a truckload of troubled teens at the Boys Ranch and bring them up. Can't do that today!

February 6, 2021 - Observation Decks at Sonny Bono Salton Sea National Wildlife Refuge in Calipatria, CA.

The Promenade Deck, deck 7 on the Sun Princess. This was the closest thing to old-fashioned cruising. I love these decks, and I spent many a day falling asleep on a deck chair with a book in my hand.

Taken at Valla Park rod run in 1996, I'm a bit unsure of this as I haven't seen to many of these before, could possibly be a Model T turtle deck roadster with a 1932 grille, any comments welcome.
