It is interesting how businesses promote the holidays regardless of what they are selling. This stairway is in a car dealership where I take my vehicle for its scheduled maintenance. HSfS

It may be relatively short (100m) but Brisbane's Sky Deck offers fabulous views of the city and its river. As well as its very contemporary design it also has a see-through glass viewing platform for the more adventurous, and best of all - it's free!

So I may be the laziest birder... after Christmas I put my tree on my deck, hide some birdseed inside, set up my camera and tripod inside and wait for the birds to come into view. I stay warm and dry, and give kudos to all those bird photographers getting up early and venturing into nature. (the huge Bluejays scare off all the little ones!)
