A random snapshot of the Christmas decorations that are out in front yard (and porch) in front of my Aunt Tammie's (and Uncle Dennis's) house that is across the street from my house in Brookhaven, Mississippi. (December 1, 2024)
My Aunt Tammie and Uncle Dennis like to wait until after Thanksgiving to put out their Christmas decorations as well as putting their Christmas tree up in their living room.
I'll try my best to explain the situation of the German exchange students:
They're coming to San Francisco for 3 months (september 15th to december 15th) this fall to take part in a collaborative class between the Institute for Research in Social Systems, Stuttgart, and the California College of the Arts, here in San Francisco. The focus of the class is the history of California communes and the experience of communal living. Hence, living with 12 people in relatively close quarters becomes a feature of the experience as opposed to a drawback.
Suffice it to say that we are all very excited about this property and the potential for a wonderful time on the beach this fall...
From the course description: "these experiments in life will generate a wide variety of materials from texts and images, to clothing, objects of various kinds – all of which will be collected and used for the organization of an exhibition and catalog at the Wuertembergischer Kunstverein (near Stuttgart) in 2008." Holler!
It's a cloudy day in NYC but here you can see part of our large private deck for our apt. We put most of the chairs away for winter. We also have a large gas grille that cannot be seen in this photo. If you stand where I was standing to take this photo and face the other direction you would see the Chrysler Building and a great city view.
