The ship made 37 voyages as a training ship of the Argentine Navy between 1899 and 1938 and is a museum since 1962.
It's a big deck on a big boat, but it was only 6mm out at the far corner.
I know these four shots are not that interesting, but I'm looking for work at the moment and need some shots to show people what I do.
The house we're renting has a front porch/deck combo thing. Its pretty neat, but I'd like it better if it were screened.
We drink our morning coffee and smoke our first ciggys of the day here before I have to head off to work.
At this point the rain was silly- several breaks for tea, home made scones, and playstation (mostly lego starwars and killzone).

A closeup of the original teak deck of the USS Missouri. When these ships were built, air conditioning wasn't an option. The teak deck helped to keep the interior from baking like an oven. Unfortunately the entire deck is currently getting replaced and the stern portion of the deck has already been fitted with new planks. While it looks nice I believe the ship is going to lose a lot of her character.
John and Kathy's herb garden. Kathy had sent E to pick some mint for mojitos. Apparently New Yorkers don't know what mint looks (or smells) like, because he found a really great sprig... of oregano.
In the spirit of scientific inquiry, I ate a small leaf of oregano right off the plant. It tasted like really strong oregano. I know, right?

I used to hit my head on the old Zen arch thing.
We tore down some lattice work, thereby remodeling the deck/fence layout slightly. Then we had the deck treated. Now everything's one color (since the hot tub remodel last summer), uniform and well-protected from the elements.
