My partner made these curtains for our deck. We just got the custom bench in, a few more touches and we're done!

The biggest change from "boat hauler" to "utility trailer" is happening: a 3/4" sheet of 4' x 10' red oak plywood, trimmed to 40" x 9.5'.
Next up is varnishing the topside, coating the bottom with leftover bed liner, and adding the stainless rails.
I found a cheap, unused pickup bed kit on Craigslist after someone had lost interest in their old Chevy project. I'll have the 7 short pieces welded together to create four longer spans... and then fasten everything down with carriage bolts.

490 sq. ft. Ipe deck with a roof structure supported by fiberglass columns. The roof allows them to enjoy their deck in their hot backyard while keeping the sides of the deck unprotected for grilling and sun bathing. The railings are Ipe with black aluminum balusters. The skirt is handmade Ipe lattice with custom designed Ipe corner pieces to add a little something extra.
In the early 1970’s and 1980’s, a majority of decks were mainly rectangular shaped and made from either cedar, redwood or pressure treated pinewood. This is not the case anymore and deck design has evolved and developed to be more sophisticated. Nowadays, it is common to find decks with multiple levels and a variety of features such as in-built kitchens, hot tubs, mood lights, railings and beautiful floor patterns. Skilful designers can now make the most of the various high quality materials that are available. Everything from exotic decking material to low maintenance wood can be utilized to create and design a beautiful custom made outdoor deck.
The finished decking.. 28sq m with balustrade and lighting. The job also included a 60 sq m new lawn, clearance of flower beds and an existing patio was re-laid. All materials for this project had to be brought through the [newly decorated] house.. boards and dust sheets put down and taken up every day for a week and a half. Thanks to John Yates for the labour on this one.
