Here is another look back to a favorite from 2018 I've not shared before. This was a relatively rare occurrence but happened a few times during the last months of B721's existence and I was fortunate to catch it. Two freight trains from two different railroads near the heart of Boston had become quite rare by this date. At left is CSXT's Framingham based local B721 making its daily trek to switch out the produce market and Schnitzer scrap which were CSXT's last two customers in Everett on the very east end of their legacy former Boston and Albany trackage (passed on to NYC, PC, and CR before becoming CSXT in 1999) which was also interestingly enough the most easterly point served on the entire vast CSXT system!
The lone ex Chessie GP40-2 is on the Fourth Iron track as it pauses to set out a tank car purchased by the MBTA for future wash train service. Standing by while they make this is move is Pan Am local BO-1 with a tattered Guilford gray GP40 on the Willey Track. Much has changed since this photo was taken as the five tracks that once crossed Third Avenue at the entrance to Boston Engine Terminal have been reduced to three. The Willey Track leading to Yard 8 is gone having given way to the GLX project and the new green line light rail shop being built here. While Pan Am still based BO-1 here, CSXT is but a memory; and the day after this photo the last B721 for a several month period ran before returning in September for an encore performance only to bow out for the truly last time on November 10, 2018. Now CSXT's two remaining customers in Everett are handled under contract by Pan Am and are route via Worcester, Ayer, and Lawrence instead of Framingham. CSXT power hasn't been seen east of CP21 since excepting a few rail trains for Keolis though if the sale of Pan Am goes through CSXT will return as Pan Am's flag falls....

Mt.Ryozen・Ohyamazumi Shrine
霊山・大山祗神社跡
I went to see if there was a shrine on Mount Reizan, but it turned out to be an abandoned site.
A very small shrine was enshrined there.
霊山に神社もあるのかと行ってみたら、跡地でした。
とても小さな社がまつられていました。

Dating back to between 1911 and 1923 the FS class 740 locomotives were the most numerous class in service in Italy. Some apparently hung on to provide occasional use right into the 1990's. As can be seen from this close up the rust generated through the outdoor storage is slowly taking hold.
Nice to meet you in the new year - what about to make a date?
Later, today it is too cold, my friend.!

For those who don’t know (and most people don’t) . . . Bumble is a dating site. So I guess for two people who like Walt Whitman & ice cream that is a perfect date spot. Honestly, this idea just made my day ! How cute & romantic is this ? !! 💛
1976 Canodate E...the "date" function goes from 1973 till 1992, guessing they thought it would not work after 1992 ;) besides the ugly date feature buttons, the rest has quite the nice design lines.
A newer minor revision of the Canodate E was released three years later in 1973. Canon refers to this as the Canodate E-N, but was just sold as the same Canodate E. This is mostly just a cosmetic change with the name plate's E in red. The date dials text with the Year in Blue, Month in Orange and Day in Red. The focusing ring is black coloured. The shutter also no longer functions when the battery is dead.
Other than the above characteristics, the camera is the same as the original Canodate E.
