In 1901 the drawing were approved for a new Church,which would relieve St.Peter`s and St.Paul`s parishes,where the population growth was large.Construction started in 1903,with a planned completion date of 1906,which was when St.John`s Parish was founded .The Church was finally inaugurated by Bishop Gottfrid Billing on Holy Teinity Day,june 1907.Designed in the Art Noveau style by Axsel Anderberg.
Tower height: 60,2m.Height to ceiling 26,13m. Length of Church 52,27m.
Both externally and internally,the Church is adorned with roses cut and carved by hand,which is why it is called "The Church of Roses".The are more than 1,000 roses in the Church.
With sight obscured by the masks they wear, a stallion and a mare frolic about on their first blind date together.

Mmmmmm. What do you think about these two? What are our chances?? The ladies seem to be ignoring the Toms. It was interesting that both of the hens were bearded too. Nature at one of its finest moments.
Dating from the 13th century, The Ship Inn is one of the oldest buildings in the Exmoor National Park. Located in the main street of Porlock it is on the A39 road connecting the village to Lynmouth in Devon. Many holidaymakers will be familiar with Porlock through the nearby hill on the A39 - the steepest A road in the United Kingdom!
Originally, The Ship was a coaching inn and today it still provides accommodation to travellers. Quite rightly it is a Grade 2 listed building which provides legal protection from demolition or alteration without prior permission from the local authority.

Eu acho que a cor está bem fiel, mas as vezes fica mais rosinha ou mais lilás dependendo da iluminação. Muito lindo esse esmalte!

Mostly characteristic to Salaj and Maramures region of Romania, the wooden churches of the region that still stand were built starting from the 17th century all the way to 19th century. Some were erected on the place of older churches. They were a response to the prohibition against the erection of stone Orthodox churches by the Catholic Austro-Hungarian authorities. The churches are made of thick logs, some are quite small and dark inside but several of them have impressive measures. They are painted with rather "naĂŻve" Biblical scenes, mostly by local painters. The most characteristic features are the tall tower above the entrance and the massive roof that seems to dwarf the main body of the church. (Wikipedia)

Shall be posting an Image a day for the next year, 365 (or 366 if it is a Leap year...not checked!!).
The Format will be different...some images have been shown before, some are new...... At the moment I am now starting a "New" Project.....Well it is "New" for me, although it has been done before by many, many People too!!!.
I will follow the direction I have chosen but there is plenty of room for me to chop and change at a later date...I guess it depends how I feel about it at a later date.
This Project will now give me the time to work with other ideas I am playing with. There will still be months in which I post other pics too from themes I have worked with in the past......I have just made a little more time and space available to me.

The date is May 3, 1991 and it was my first time in the Chicago area. The objective was to shoot the Burlington Northern E-units on Metra trains and we beat feeted it to Naperville as soon as we left O'Hare. Upon arriving, we were amazed that the first train we saw was an eastbound Southern Pacific freight train, led by Cotton Belt GP60 No. 9625. We saw several more in the days that followed.
