Il est presque 15 heures mais les horloges du clocher de Telgárt sont arrêtées sur 7h20 alors que le train remoqué par le « Perroquet » 477.013 négocie la boucle de Telgárt qui lui fait perdre environ 30 mètres d’altitude.
It is almost 3 p.m. but the clocks on the Telgárt bell tower are stopped at 7.20 as the train pulled by the "Parrot" 477.013 negotiates the Telgárt loop, which makes it lose about 30 metres in altitude.

Tournai or Tournay is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the Province of Hainaut, Belgium. It lies 89 km (55 mi) by road southwest of the centre of Brussels on the river Scheldt, and is part of Eurometropolis Lille–Kortrijk–Tournai, In 2022, the municipality of Tournai had an estimated population of 68,518 people.
Tournai is one of the oldest cities in Belgium and has played an important role in the country's cultural history. It was the first capital of the Frankish Empire, with Clovis I being born here.
Tournai lies 89 km (55 mi) by road southwest of the centre of Brussels on the river Scheldt. Administratively, the town and municipality is part of the Province of Hainaut, in the Wallonia region of southwest Belgium. The municipality has an area of 213.75 km2 (82.53 sq mi).
Tournai is considered to be one of the most important cultural sites in Belgium. The mixed Romanesque- and Gothic-style Cathedral of Our Lady and the city's Belfry, considered the oldest in Belgium, have been designated by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites. Inside the cathedral, the Châsse de Notre-Dame flamande, a beautifully ornate 12th-century reliquary, gives witness to Tournai's wealth in the Middle Ages.
Other places of interest are the 13th-century Scheldt bridge (Pont des Trous) and the main square (Grand-Place), as well as several old city gates, historic warehouses, and a variety of museums. As in many Belgian cities, there are a number of cafés and pubs on the Grand-Place. In the middle of the square, there are a series of water fountains, while a circular staircase to the top of the Belfry can be climbed.
On the Rue Barre-St-Brice are two of the oldest private houses in Europe, dating from between 1175 and 1200 and built in the Romanesque style, while the Rue des Jésuites includes a Gothic house from the 13th century. There are also several buildings in the Art Nouveau style across the city.
Some of the great Flemish Primitives are from Tournai: Robert Campin, Rogier van der Weyden, and Jacques Daret.
Sixty years ago, on January 15 1965, the last steam train operated within the vast Penrhyn slate quarries in North Wales. That last train was operated by Avonside loco "Ogwen" - and the driver wrote his name and the date inside the cab to mark this end of an era.
Since then, "Ogwen" has been to the USA and returned, has been restored back to steam and now lives at Apedale - but the inscription in the cab remains!
To mark this anniversary, the Apedale light railway operated their two ex-Penrhyn locos - "Ogwen" and "Stanhope" with a selction of suitable slate wagons.

Dating back to 1936, the Neon 147 foot long & 50 foot high Pepsi -Cola sign/billboard that since 2009 sits on the waterfront at Gantry Plaza State Park once sat upon the roof of Pepsi-Cola’s bottling plant located right behind where the sign is today.
Pepsi’s origins actually go back to 1898, in New Bern, North Carolina. New York City became the company headquarters after Pepsi-Cola’s second bankruptcy in 1931; the National Pepsi-Cola Company was acquired by the Loft Candy Company and eventually Loft’s and Pepsi-Cola president Charles G. Guth moved Pepsi-Cola operations to Long Island City in 1936. The production facility was the largest bottling facility in the United States at the time, it’s location on the East River facilitating ships delivering sugar cane from Havana and other Pepsi ingredients. The remarkable Neon Pepsi-Cola sign adorned the roof of that building, joining other Neon signs that lined the East River representing the cradle of manufacturing that Long Island City was during that era. The sign was built by Artkraft Strauss Sign Corporation with an Art Deco cursive script and the same company refurbished the sign in 1994. The Pepsi bottling facility at Long Island City shut down in 1998. The property was offered for sale with one stipulation. The Pepsi-Cola Company, the New York/Queens community and the New York City Landmark commission came to an agreement that the historically important sign had to be preserved. Taken with an Olympus E-5 with a 12-60mm F/2.8-4.0 Olympus Zuiko Digital Lens, tone mapped using Photomatix, cleaned up in Adobe Lightroom.
One of my favourite shots, I thought this was romantic. The poetry and the stillness of "inanimate" objects.
The new date for the ultimate weekend in Emmeloord is May 22-23.
This is the most intense workshop I teach, and probably on the market ;)
2 days of intense training going from a-z in model photography, from styling to lighting and retouching and even set building ;)
See www.frankdoorhof.com/site/tours/ultimateweekend/ for more information and booking.
