Stone carved detail carved into the former offices of the Bristol Mirror in the heart of teh old city.
I don't know what will happen when all those dates ripen. I expect the maintenance staff will have a lot of cleaning to do.
The conservatory on Detroit's Belle Isle was designed by Albert Kahn, who designed many other famous buildings in Detroit. It opened in 1904, and is the oldest continually open conservatory in the United States. It's on the National Register of Historic Places.

All artists of the Urban Art Exchange SH(OUT)!!! painted together the complete bridge and tunnel walls at the Mosplein in Amsterdam Noord. A common color scheme for the styels and the background was chosen by the organisation crew. During a preparation meeting the wall space was divided amon the artists in order to get a good composition of stylewriters and characters.
URBAN ART MURALISM - ARTIST EXCHANGE in AMSTERDAM
A group of 36 Urban Artists coming from six European countries – Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Italy, France and Austria – took part in the European Art Exchange Project “SH(OUT)!!!” from 18.03.11 to 27.03.11 in Amsterdam.
The main activities included several mural paintings in the city of Amsterdam, an exhibition in the Dokhuis Gallery as well as a common art workshop with local young people.
Nowadays Urban Art has worldwide acceptance as a young art form. Urban Artists form and transform public spaces and present their work, free of charge, throughout the cities. The event gives respect and pays tribute to art from the streets and makes this art form more accessible to a broader audience through various live painting activities in the city, two innovative group exhibitions and workshops.

So the little one went to a slumber party last night. I was just as excited as she was since Mr. Cat and I have not had alone time in awhile. It was sooo nice to get dressed up and go out to a killer dinner. I also have been dying to see Superbad, so we watched it when we got home and I nearly died laughing.
It is easy to get caught up in the every day routine. When we have this alone time, it reminds us of why we are together and also that we need to do it more often! So...if you and your honey need to re-connect - make a date.

So Alisa and I were long overdue for a date night! We decided to goto the Bayshore Lounge for a nice dinner and then walked across to English Bay where we watched the sun set. Afterwards we hit up the Fair at Lansdowne Mall, got some mini donuts, and kicked it back at home to watch a movie =)
And where the heck are our bodies...

Dating back to the late 90s, this ornament harkens to a time when the internet was still taking popular culture by storm.
I think this one typifies my interests in macro photography and flickr, making it into a bit of a representation of my self - yet without being an image of myself. Because of this interesting dual purpose, I'm adding this image to the periodic challenge for the flickr group Changing Photo Projects for "Self-Portrait."
Also submitted for the Macro Mondays "Meaningful holiday ornaments/decorations" challenge.
As a personal project, I'm getting into the holiday spirit by taking a picture of an ornament each day for the month of December.

This mural was completed by the Date Farmers for Luminaria 2014 on the exterior wall of the 1111 Navarro St. Armando Lerma and Carlos Ramirez, a pair of American-born Chicanos from Indio, California, met at a Coachella Valley art gallery in 1998, and 3 years later they entered the Los Angeles gallery scene with a collective name that comes from the date farm that Armando's father owned where Carlos once worked. Their artwork, which includes paintings, sculptures and installations, merges diverse influences like graffiti, Catholicism, traditional revolutionary posters, sign painting, and even a dash of Hollywood.
