PERSONAL FUN FACT: I'm pretty torn between Cloe and Yasmin's Cult Gaia ensembles. On the one hand, Cloe's main outfit is superb...definitely more visually interesting than Yasmin's. On the other hand, Cloe's tops are both super finicky to tie on. She also only comes with one pair of shoes. It was an odd choice, considering Yasmin has a different set of footwear for her second outfit. Anyways, back to Yas. Just like with Cloe, her wardrobe is sublime. The quality takes me back to the early days of Bratz. I also feel like your getting pretty good mileage for your dollar. Yes, the Cult Gaia dolls do have a hefty retail price. But you are getting not just a spare outfit with each doll, but one made of METAL!! That's right, this silver gown is made from little metal sequins. Totally impractical but stunning. Yasmin's main look is fashioned from luxurious fabrics (the skirt is insanely thick and the top is equally as soft). The shoe molds are both new ones introduced for this collection. Cloe's sandals coordinate with Yasmin's--each have funky circular heels. Yas also dons thigh high boots that feature an ornate pattern. It kind of reminds me of fancy china for some reason. Not only do you get two pairs of shoes, but each outfit has its own pair of earrings too. I believe the reason Cloe only came with one pair of shoes is because her extra purse is all metal. Yasmin's purses are not as well made (one is just standard plastic, although the fabric one is stellar).

PERSONAL FUN FACT: I admit I was kind of bummed out when I brought this jumper home from the flea market and realized it wasn't part of Mia's collection. Mia, the Girl of the Year 2008, has a snowflake on her "meet" sweater. Likewise, I actually found items from Mia's wardrobe at the same flea market booth. I figured that this was a shot in the dark, but for only one dollar it wasn't a big deal to take the risk. Normally, you'd think that this type of snowy ensemble would be useless without the corresponding unitard. But given the structure of this jumper, it actually works by itself...albeit it doesn't look very wintery though! The fabric of this outfit is that sort of stretchy athletic material found on my Girl of Today Tennis Outfit. The zipper really works...a detail I very much appreciate. You can change up the look of this ensemble, based on how much you zip it up!
Tehran Couple - Dating scene is full time ON in Tehran and other cities. You go to any park or restaurant and you will find young couples roaming around hands in hands. This one was taken at historic Golestan Palace in Tehran.

P.S: Shooting people discretely, knowing what you are doing is not right and feeling a bit embarrassed as a result doesn't give you much chance to be creative or capture the right moment. Apologies for the awkward moment captured but conveys the message anyway.

I usually post a Macro Mondays photo on Sunday night, but this week's theme is just not inspiring me. I tried a couple of photos and didn't like any of them. I think I'll stop trying today and just mark the day with a calendar shot.
I wish I could remember where I took this. I know it was in Beijing, but can't remember if this was outside the Forbidden City towards the back, or the summer palace...regardless of location I really fell in love with this picture...very carefree..just like your first date with the person your still with now!
Friday afternoon Greg and I loaded up Handsome Dan and got on the road behind Vic and Chris to head over the Hurley and camp at Tyax Lake Lodge.
After stopping at Gun Lake to pick up Rich, we arrived, setup camp, feasted on some delicious burgers and beer and then all marvelled at how many stars were in the sky.
It’s been quite some time since I’ve felt like myself enough to do some bright over the top make up and dress up in a loud layered outfit. It was date night and we went to see An American Werewolf In London at the theater. It was a great night and I had such a good time seeing one of my favorites in a theater like that. I had fun doing make up too. I don’t think it had a place in my life from a day to day perspective, but it was a fun creative exercise.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: The lockers pretty much sum up why my sister and I wanted this school. They really open, they look realistic yet colorful....everything you could want. This originally came with name stickers for the Generation Girls. But I got my school secondhand in the early 2000s. There were a few pieces of the name labels left, but most were gone or partially torn. So they eventually were all peeled off. That was fine with us, since Colleen and I rarely played with the Generation Girls in the school. Instead we had our usual cast of favorite dolls, which rotated around depending on the time frame. There would be a designated locker for School Photographer Becky, Pet Pals Skipper, 2001 Sparkling Jasmine...even Kid Kore Katie. It's interesting because Katie was eight....so I'm not sure why she'd have a high school locker. I even made little text books out of construction paper and gel pens for each of the dolls. I would do different fonts, copying names from my own textbooks. Sometimes I'd doodle on the covers, to make it look like the dolls got bored in class. The slide out walls also added some realism. It was a bummer we didn't get any of the furniture that originally came with this set. But we had so many dolls in play, that we couldn't have possibly fit them at the flimsy cafeteria table. So we just sat the dolls on the floor and pretended there was a table. Colleen and I always used our imaginations to fill in the missing set pieces or even characters we didn't have. The newspaper room was also a fun set to utilize. I really liked the copy machine...but I was bummed it wasn't three dimensional. The walls are vinyl which can be retracted into the school. This makes everything super compact and easy to store. However, when you store it for a while and then roll out the walls, they stay curled. So I always have to use putty to stick under the metal bases. This keeps the walls taught and straight. This wasn't so much an issue when I was a kid, because the school was set up ALL the time.
wednesday is date night around the brennan house and since the weather has been so nice we finally got a chance to eat dinner outside. food and wine at cafe europa on the patio. 50mm 1.8 and loads of lens flare.

Hotel now public house. c1875. Red brick with ashlar sandstone dressings, graduated slate roof. 3 storeys and attic; on corner site with 8 bays to Abbey Road, corner oriel and shorter left return to Rawlinson Street. Gothic Revival style. Chamfered plinth; moulded string course beneath ground-floor sill band. Two quoined doorways to Abbey Road have colonnettes, Gothic-panelled doors, overlights with intersecting glazing bars and moulded arches with hoodmoulds. Triple-, double- and single-light windows in irregular rhythm: colonnette mullions, sashes under pointed arches and linked hoodmoulds. Angled corner bay has single-light windows flanking granite shaft supporting the oriel.
1st floor: ornate brackets to full-width balcony with cast-iron balustrade having foliate panels and posts with finials; hotel name in bold letters. Windows in rhythm 1:2:1:2:2:1:2:1 have sashes in recessed ashlar surrounds under brick pointed arches; continuous hoodmoulds and blue-brickrelieving arches. The 2-light windows have colonnette mullions and quatrefoils in ashlar panels over.
2nd floor: sill and lintel bands link recessed, square-headed sashes in same rhythm; pilaster mullions. Corner oriel: corbelling with ball-flowers under semi-octagon with 3 trefoil-headed sashes under linked triangular hoodmoulds; 2nd floor sashes have lintels with roundels under trefoils; carved cornice now topped by brick parapet. Main eaves has compound brick corbelling; hipped roof with 7 dormers to Abbey Road having casements under oversailing verges on arch braces. Plain brick stacks to ridge and left return slope.
Left return: pointed doorway flanked by 3-light and 2-light windows; all windows and 2 roof dormers as front. 2 unequal, gabled additions on left are set lower.
INTERIOR: stair hall is half-panelled in mahogany; impressive staircase rising through 3 floors in open well under coved ceiling with lantern: turned balusters linked by piercedpanels under moulded handrail; bold newel posts.

Photo shows lawyer Inez Milholland Boissevain riding astride in the suffrage parade as the first of four mounted heralds. In her short life she shared with many of her fellow marchers a commitment to social reform. She joined organizations striving to improve the working conditions of children and the lives of African Americans. She was also a strong supporter of the shirtwaist and laundry workers. Three years after the parade, she collapsed and died at age thirty during a western suffrage lecture tour. PERSONAL FUN FACT: I definitely feel I acquired these dresses during the 2021 flea market season. Although, I'm not sure which of the few lots they originated from. Either way, I was hoping that I'd be able to figure out the mystery when I set out to identify doll clothes in 2022. Every late winter/spring, before the start of flea market season, I make sure to set aside time to do some research. I was not planning on identifying nearly 70 articles of doll clothing (not including the two fashion gift sets I had as a kid, that I was looking for photos of). Anyways, I got lucky that I found pictures of this set during my internet travels. It's not easy finding Dazzling Date Fashions photos online. Well, there are always results, but not for the outfits I'm looking for. I wasn't even intentionally looking for these gowns...I was on Pinterest hunting for something else. The pink/orange dress caught the corner of my eye. It stands out even in a throng of other 90s Barbie dresses. I then concluded it was from this set, and checked to see if there were other pieces in my unidentified bags of clothes. Despite the fact that this set came with ten dresses, I only have two. That's the way it almost always is. These dresses remind me fondly of my childhood...they are a bit tacky, but perfect for Barbie!
