At Christmas Island, a small community in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, it’s all about the postmark. The Christmas Island post office is now famous for bringing a festive feel to holiday cards around the world with wreath postmarks that say “Christmas Island.”
Postmistress Hughena MacKinnon has been delivering holiday cheer with the stamp since 1994. Ms. MacKinnon forwards holiday letters around the world after postmarking them with the famous holiday stamp.
“They add a little extra holiday flair,” said Canada Post spokeswoman Anick Losier.
“The stamp has been altered for 2010,” said Ms. MacKinnon. “They’ve added some extra decoration to the wreath [on the stamp].”
She said that during the summer months the post office receives around 100 letters a day, yet during the holiday season that number escalates to around 1,000.
Mail is sent through the office — with postage enclosed — to be stamped and forwarded, by the postmistress, around the world. To have your holiday cards postmarked, send your addressed cards with proper postage in a larger envelope, and address to:

PERSONAL FUN FACT: I love how delightfully dark Meygan's ensemble for this line is! I especially love her sheer, almost Renaissance inspired top. It is probably my favorite piece from Meygan's outfit, especially since the tan color works wonders with Meygan's dark red hair. Her jeans are incredibly intricate as well. Not only are they made with real denim, but they also have intentional distressing and lace/red bow accents. I'm really glad to have gotten a second pair of these with my duplicated Meygan, since I'm sure they'll come in handy later on. To complete Meygan's gothic inspired look, she has a traditional lace cape. It reminds me so much of the ones sold with the Magic Night Out Bratzillaz dolls, only better quality. Her rose choker is the most fantastic touch--I'm so glad I also have two of these (it's too bad my second one doesn't match the Pretty 'N' Punk Meygan outfit my dupe is currently sporting). Even though the Midnight Dance line was packaged in slim boxes, I have to say that these dollies came with a decent amount of stuff. You can see here that Meygan came with a mannequin stand, makeup, and an intricate outfit...and I don't even have all of her goodies!

PERSONAL FUN FACT: I was so excited to stumble upon several Dolls of the World Barbies at an indoor flea market in 2012. The seller was a guy Colleen occasionally purchased Harry Potter collectibles from in years past. We also bought our Star Trek Barbie and Ken Gift Set from him. Anyways, knowing we liked Barbies, the man gave us a deal on his cluster of Dolls of the World and other plastic friends. I believe he originally wanted $6 for each doll, but let us have them for $2 or $3 each. I couldn't even begin to process which of the Dolls of the World was my favorite Barbie find of the day. I remember ogling Princess of Ireland many times at the store. I would contemplate as an eleven/twelve year old about buying one. But I felt bad, as I knew that this line was more money than the standard play line Barbie. I did acquire a few of them brand new, but not as many as I would have liked. Anyways, this Barbie came to me with quite ratty hair and a very yellowed torso. Presumably she'd been affected by UV damage. I did manage to remove the yellow discoloration, but it returns eventually. As I'm typing this, she's not as yellow as she originally was, but she isn't as pale as she was when I first did the treatment. The discoloration was very evident on her since she has such a porcelain complexion. Luckily, I was able to permanently sort out her matted tresses with a boil wash. She is by far one of the most stunning Dolls of the World Barbies in my collection to this day. She has gorgeous long red tresses, dark maroon lips, and green eyes!
Sofia's Archeological Museum is small, but precious, because some of its artifacts date from the 3rd Century B.C. This piece is kept in the Vault, along with other masterpieces and treasures.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: This little doll truly captures the essence of my full sized Ice Champions Maribel. Her shocking blue eyes and brownish red hair are such beautiful features. She does look rather similar though to my Lil' Angelz Sorya and Meygan dolls, who I got at the same time. Once I had them dressed back up in their original outfits, after baths of course, it was easier to tell them apart. I had no idea when we got the "Lil' Angelz Palooza Lot" of 2020 that there were several awesome characters included. At a first glance while at the flea market, my mind was overloaded with whether or not to buy the entire bin of dollies. Although the seller was trying to pawn them off for $1 each, I couldn't bear the idea of leaving behind the pets and other accessories that so obviously went to the Lil' Angelz. I wasn't able to fully process which characters were even included, I just knew I'd never have the chance to buy so many Lil' Angelz in the wild again. Maribel is one of the cutest finds of the day. I love how she has little yellow highlights in her red hair, which also make her eyes pop. I know Lil' Angelz all more or less have the same facial screenings, but somehow this doll seems to have such "dreamy" eyes, that fits with her bedtime theme! I'm also very partial to this particular head mold, with the two ponytails!
