PERSONAL FUN FACT written by my sister: The designs on this one piece outfit remind me of Shopkins. I especially like the smiling box of french fries down near the hem. Even though this is a one-piece outfit, it looks convincingly like two because of the way the part that is supposed to look like denim looks distressed. It gives the illusion of a texture change, when, in fact, the whole outfit it very soft and sheer. The faux buttons are also super cute. I like the bright colors. The rainbow stripes coordinate really well with the rainbow in the middle. I also like how it looks like there is a front pocket. The sneakers are a really cool mold. I also like how they are black because they would go with just about anything. I like how detailed the mold itself is. They look so cute! At first, I thought my doll only came with the phone. It is way more modern than any of my other Skipper doll phones! I didn't originally realize she was supposed to come with a baby bottle. It was mostly hiding behind her enormous hairdo. However, when I looked at the line photo on the back of the box, I realized that she was supposed to come with a bottle. At first, I thought either it was in the stock photo only or that my doll just didn't have it (my 1992 Aladdin didn't come with his second pair of pants). Then, I saw it behind Lexi's (aka Skipper) hair. I like that my doll came with the pink sippy cup! Pink is my favorite color. I also think it's a really cute mold and was eager to put it with all Shelly's other Kelly/Krissy beverage containers. My very first Barbie, who I got when I was about five years old, came with cardboard accessories, which Mom threw away instantaneously. Therefore, at the age of 31, I still hoard cardboard accessories like they are secret treasure. I was obviously very excited when, about a day after purchasing my new Skipper doll, I realized she had cardboard punch outs. It was at that point, I just had to open her, so I made Shelly take the boxed photos. The paper, perhaps a school essay or instructions left by the parents on baby care, is quite versatile, yet also more mundane. You would think that since I have many PLASTIC baby toys and beverage cups just Barbie's size, that I would find more use for a doll sized paper, two dimensional like paper, yet sturdy enough for occasional play. But no--I was far more excited by the xylophone and the beverage. The xylophone reminds me fondly of some of the baby accessories we got with my 1994 Babysitter Skipper for Christmas 2004. The drink reminds me of those fancy drinks you can order at places like Dunkins and Starbucks. It looks delicious! Skipper looks super trendy with her skinny little phone and high maintenance cappuccino. This doll has a lot of play value!

Parish church. C14 tower and transepts. Remainder of church rebuilt 1842 by Thomas Foster of Bristol; chancel altered 1869-71 by William Burges. Porch room by Peter Falconer added in 1973. Ashlar and random rubble limestone; stone and Welsh slate roofs. Nave with aisles, north and south transepts, central tower and chancel. West entrance lobby addition and parish room. C14 tower and transepts, tower having tall deeply splayed 2-light pointed belfry openings with Decorated tracery; broach spire with narrow lucarnes to cardinal faces; upper part removed 1563 and replaced by crenellated coronet with crocketed pinnacles. Octagonal north east stair turret entered by pointed arched doorway in angle between chancel and north transept. Very fine south transept has large 5-light rose window, diagonal corner buttresses and row of closely-spaced side wall buttresses with 2-light pointed windows between. Plainer north transept with 3-light north and similar east window with reticulated tracery, north having circular Cl9 restored window above with quatrefoil tracery. Moulded pointed arched doorway on east side with hoodmould. C19 buttressed chancel has large 5-light geometrical traceried east window with double tracery in Burges's typical bold style; empty hooded image niche above. Perpendicular Gothic nave by Foster appears bulky against medieval crossing. Five Perpendicular aisle windows and one bay at west end with smaller window; 2-light clerestory windows with 4-centred pointed heads separated by gabled buttresses. Crenellated parapets with tall crocketed pinnacles at west end above angle buttresses. Four-light Perpendicular west window. Flat-roofed lobby obscures west doorway, links with hexagonal church room having sprocketed pyramidal roof with ball finial and stone cross windows. Interior: broad nave with panelled roof having gilt bosses and painted decoration to ribbing. Four-bay arcades with octagonal columns. C14 crossing arches die into responds of piers. Tierceron vaulting beneath tower taken off slender corner shafts with foliage capitals. Some medieval painting survives on nave arch. Timber boarded barrel vault to chancel with 1931 painted decoration by F.C. Eden. Highly polished encaustic tile to stepped chancel floor. Most remarkable part of interior is south transept, dominated by rose window and with pitched stone slab roof supported on stone cross-arches with scissor bracing, these set closely together relating to the external buttressing. Two ogee-arched Decorated mortuary tomb recesses below south transept window have rich crocket decoration and pinnacles, also retaining effigy of Knight in contemporary armour and his Lady, each on chest with quatrefoil front panelling. Similar tomb recess in north transept now obscured by organ. Many other fine memorials including brasses at west end of nave. Good segmental pedimented memorial in south transept to IEREMIE BVCKE, a Parliamentary officer, appears undated; oval brass plate below to Jacobus Bradley, S.T.P., died 1762 aged 70 has latin inscription - this formerly being attached to Bradley's monument in the churchyard (q.v.). Several good monuments reset high in nave between clerestory windows. All are fine, many of cadaver type, mostly to Sheppard family of Gatcombe Park. Especially good is one on south side by Ricketts of Gloucester to SAMUEL SHEPPARD, died 1770. Boldest on north side is pedimented plaque to JOSEPH ILES, died 1749, by Robert Chambers. Remainder of fittings mostly date from re-seating of church in 1875. Timber rood screen by F.C. Eden of 1920 was intended to be painted. Very complete stained glass: east window and south rose window by Hardman. West window and most aisles windows are by Herbert Bryans, a pupil of Kempe, installed 1899-1922. One window in north aisle by Edward Payne. Church at Minchinhampton originally given by William the Conqueror to the Abbaye aux Dames, Caen, passing to the nuns of Syon Abbey in 1415. PERSONAL FUN FACT: Ah, True Hope Jaxson...where do I even begin. I absolutely love this little dude, and he'll always mean more than words can express (I'm talking about both my dolls, not just one). The True Hope line came out in June 2012, but I knew of its release well before then. In fact, I must have heard about it sometime in March, because Dad was home when I told him about the dolls. It was in March that year that he went to the hospital for the final time. Dad had battled with his health since being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in late 2009. Although he had successfully undergone his cancer treatments, they had left him a shell of the man he used to be. The last few years of his life were a blur of hospitals, doctor's offices, and hospices. Dolls were a little ray of light for all of us during that time. I had given them up for five years as a teen because I felt like I "had" to grow up. But by 2011, I had a change of heart. Needless to say, going through all of Dad's health issues with him changed my perspective on life. Dad loved reconnecting with me and my sister through dolls. Toys were a language he understood, since he had an interest in model cars. We would venture out to flea markets, consignment shops, antique stores, etc on the hunt for dollies. When I got back into Bratz, that reopened the realm of possibilities when it came to buying dolls brand new. I spent countless hours researching Bratz in those days because I was making a book for myself on them. Anyways, that was how I learned about the True Hope dolls. I recall Dad walking into the computer room and asking me about the True Hope dolls on screen. When I told him they were made for kids with cancer, he said they were my kind of thing, and we would have to get them when they came out. My mother had cancer when I was younger but lost her battle, so needless to say these dolls resonated on a deep level with me. Sadly, Dad passed away a few weeks before the dolls came out. So we never go the chance to get them together. Colleen and I did make that special trip to Toys 'R' Us sometime after the release of the True Hope line. I wanted to get Cameron in memory of Dad. But when we were there, I was compelled by little Jaxson (the doll on the left). After much debate, Colleen and I thought it was only fitting to get him too. He was my very first Moxie Boyz doll, and ultimately he is what first got me interested in this brand of dolls. Although, it wouldn't be for another two years almost until I bought any of the girls.
The dude on the right is equally as sentimental, as he was gift from my sister. Back in 2015, she used to work at the Salvation Army through the school's work study program with her special needs student. Because of this, she qualified for the employee discount. She ended up paying only $1 for this little guy who was still BOXED!!! How crazy is that?!!! I wonder why they had him marked so cheaply? Anyways, her reasoning was that Jaxson came with extra clothes, which we might need in the future. Plus, this line was obviously extremely special to me. It was also unlikely that a kid would see a male doll and would want him. Originally, I named this guy Jason. But since Colleen has some bad memories associated with several Jasons over the years (not boyfriends...just creeps), I thought it was best to rename him Jay. I've had the two together on my display so long, it's hard to remember what it was like back when my first Jaxson lived with my True Hope Cameron on my Bratz shelves.
