I have a date today with an Austrian Nobleman, the Archduke of Bergdorf and Heimwehfluh!
The Archduke is a new client, who says “I want to be seen in public with a beautiful but shameless prostitute, who looks as if she'd do anything for money. This is my sexual kink — can you accommodate me?” He is paying top dollar for the full “hooker experience”. The attached picture shows the outfit I have in mind for him. What do you think?
Madame X and I were running over The Salon’s accounts for the week on Friday afternoon, and checking up on what our girls are doing over the coming weekend. Madame X – like everyone else – is very intrigued by the “Client List” news story, and is wondering (as we all are) if it could have any impact on our business at The Salon, both in London and here in Monte Carlo. She feels, however, that there are certain cultural differences in play.
”Ceci illustre parfaitement votre hypocrisie anglo-saxonne, ma chère. Un lord anglais fréquenterait volontiers un bordel notoire, mais il ne veut pas que quiconque le sache ! Quelle hypocrisie ! “
I felt this should be answered with some firmness. “Ne sous-estimez pas la valeur de l'hypocrisie, ma chérie ! Prenez exemple sur votre propre style de vie. Pécher la luxure et souiller le lit conjugal chaque jour dans la profession que vous avez choisie ! Le dimanche, toujours à la messe en la cathédrale Notre-Dame-Immaculée. Puis, confessez-vous à votre prêtre préféré ! N'est-ce pas là une autre forme d'hypocrisie?”
Madame X gave me a slightly funny look, and changed the subject back to our girls’ bookings for the weekend.
Toodle Pip!
Love and Kisses to All!

Dating from 1927, former Oporto tram 273 is pictured in the Tram Shed at the Crich Tramway Village on June 1st 2019.
Dating from the 19th century these markers were located all around the City of London at a roughly 20 mile radius to mark the area in which tax was charged on all coal entering the area.
There were originally about 280 and around three quarters have survived.

One day I just thought to go out and shoot something. Soi took my Z6 out with kit lens of 24-70mm f/4 S, and thought to do something creative.

Mizya was visiting...
You know, just when I'm thinking of coming back to flickr, they decide to force this black look with the sidebar on everyone. It looks like absolute shit on my screen and it's so hard to quickly find the info I usually look at (tags, other groups/streams it's in), so now I'm thinking of completely giving up this site.

Friday is generally date night for my husband Jamie & myself. Generally we go to live music, go dancing, or do something else fun. Tonight was a surprise date night for my husband who loves live music, his favorite singer being Samm Qendra. So as a surprise I had her come and sing for Jamie tonight for date night :). It was completely perfect as he wasn't expecting this great surprise. So happy that it all turned out so beautifully! She sang all his favorite songs plus a whole lot more. She is a completely gifted and amazing singer. I will be having her back again in the future!

PERSONAL FUN FACT: Shoppin' Fun Kelly is definitely one of the most iconic Kelly dolls of all time to me. Technically speaking, one of my dolls, the gal on the right, was actually packaged as Shoppin' Fun Shelly. When I was rather young...maybe six years old, I found a Shoppin' Fun Barbie and Shelly set at our local flea market. Despite the fact that it has probably been around 20 years since I found those two dolls, I still remember like it was yesterday. The pink 90s style box was on a blanket, which was covering the ground. I recall that the dolls had been crammed back inside their package with a few of their accessories. I think the set cost $7...I might be remembering wrong though. Anyways, I LOVED that this doll's name was Shelly, just like my own. And it was even spelled the same way, without the "e" before the "y." Colleen and I split the set up--I gave her Shelly, and kept Barbie for myself. This Shelly doll was one of Colleen's personal favorites to play with. We almost got rid of her when we first started collecting dolls again in 2011--words cannot describe how relieved I am that we didn't end up casting her out.
The doll on the left side of this photo was also a childhood friend. She too was from the flea market--in fact, we probably found her less than two years after acquiring the first. By that point, Colleen had run little Shelly ragged. Her once platinum bouncy, blonde hair was grey and balled up looking. This doll was all by herself, without Barbie or any of her other goodies. But she still donned her original outfit and looked factory fresh. She ended up replacing Shelly in the doll games--our original gal needed a bit of a break anyways. I love her just as much as the first. I think it's really awesome that we found these dolls in such close succession, but that one of them has indefinitely stood the test of time better. Luckily for oldy moldy Shelly, the boil wash did her many favors.
Date nails during the early half of the 20th century were widespread on various roads. Most often, date nails indicated when the tie was treated at the factory before being laid by track gangs. The Santa Fe were yuge buyers of date nails, with the newest being stamped in 1969.
Here, a date nail dated for 1927 is embedded into a railroad tie at Colmor, NM. The Raton and Glorieta Subs are some of the last mainlines that feature date nails of this age.
