This cube attached to the Contemporary Jewish Museum across from Yerba Buena Gardens makes for a very interesting subject. It's alluring shade of blue combined with great line and form provide for a unique spot in downtown San Francisco.

The Cube has 6 different colourful mosaics on its sides and combines a lot of the things that I love: Lego (obviously), geometric shapes, colours, mosaics and patterns and finally some logic and maths.

It was a very fun and satisfying build and it makes me so happy just looking at it.
Kubuswoningen, or cube houses, are a set of innovative houses built in Rotterdam and Helmond in The Netherlands, designed by architect Piet Blom in 1984. The houses in Rotterdam are located on Overblaak Street, and beside the Blaak Subway Station. Blom tilted the cube of a conventional house 45 degrees, and rested it upon a hexagon-shaped pylon. There are 38 small cubes and two so called 'super-cubes', all attached to each other.
As residents are disturbed so often by curious passers-by, one owner decided to open a "show cube", which is furnished as a normal house, and is making a living out of offering tours to visitors.
The houses contain three floors:
ground floor entrance
first floor with living room and open kitchen
second floor with two bedrooms and bathroom
top floor which is sometimes used as a small garden
The walls and windows are angled at 54.7 degrees. The total area of the apartment is around 100 square meters, but around a quarter of the space is unusable because of the walls that are under the angled ceilings.

Got to shoot the new Cube for Super Street a couple months ago. The strange design was interesting and difficult to photograph but I'm relatively pleased with my results
We're still working on stone cubes. Because of the swiss cheesy nature of the stone that I insist on, less than half of them end up being suitable for final polishing. You just don't know until you cut the cube.

Don't they light up these cube signs at least sometimes? I don't ever remember this Horn Lake Kroger cube sign being lit up.

The Cube Project - A Collaborative LEA Project
Bryh Oh, board member for the LEA project, and famous SL artist, has recently begun collaborating a huge project with some simple rules. “Twenty Sims. Black and White Cubes. Five Days. Few people in Toronto know the history of this unusual house which is nestled up against an expressway ramp close to downtown. I photographed it today on a photo walk and took the time to google it when I got home. Here's the unusual and confusing story:

This is a new sculpture of Bård Breivik (March 2010), in the City Park of Bergen.
The four walls of the cube represent four Physics phenomema: Orion's Belt, High C, Doppler Chamber Tone A, and Fractals.
It will be used as a wall relief on the outer walls of the new building for the Institute of Informatics at the University of Oslo.

They started construction 7th January 2010 and completed in April 2013. It was opened on the 3rd September 2013.
It cost 188.80 million to build. It is 60 metres high (300feet).
The architect was Francine Houben and the Architecture firm that built it was called Mecanoo Architecten.
