Art CUBE is a project that takes the common notion of the frame, a solid border that usually surrounds a picture or painting, and transforms this boundary into a temporary outdoor gallery space for Art Alliance Austin. This simple transformation is accomplished by extruding the frame and separating it into two halves. Next, one of the halves is rotated 90 degrees and then interlocked with the other half of the frame. The resulting gaps and spaces between the two pieces form the gallery enclosure and allow light and people to filter through the space. The result is a compact, yet sophisticated space that is secure and enhances the installation of work by selected artists.

Nissan Cube, On display at Birmingham's Bullring.
The updated Nissan Cube features more rounded and curved styling cues than its predecessors. This evolution is most striking in the rear bumper area, in the asymmetrical rear window, which wraps around to the passenger side, and in the oval-shaped driver and front passenger windows. The rear hatch is hinged to open along its vertical axis, towards the curb. This helps loading and unloading when street parking in a crowded urban environment.

The perfect use for my alternative cube, since its size can easily be changed by shifting the rods, so it fits the icosahedron perfectly!

Is this a Companion Cube decked out for Christmas? I've spotted several of them suspended within pyramid-shaped wooden structures in the city over the last week. Their function remains a mystery.
Selectively desaturated this picture a lot to give it a Christmas card-ish feel. Some parts of the picture were terribly over-exposed, gave it a _very_ quick, rough touch-up... would have ruled with multiple exposures and a tripod! The rough editing is why I've only put it up at a low resolution, I don't want my ham-fistedness to be too obvious ;P
Escher cube for my career, it was really hard to complete but I got help from friends and we finished really fast.
