As there are six colours in Peter's paper package, cube are a somewhat obvious idea to be folded. So I flipped through some of my books and refolded some cubes. Some? Six!
It was fun to see the different sizes of the final cubes, back row are all from 12 pieces, front row from 6. Tomoko Fuse seems to be most efficient: hers are largest.
Revised version of the cube posted earlier this week. Cube is still brick built and the 3 tiers rotate on 1 axis. The original 2x2 tiles have been replaced with black tiles and laser cut vinyl has been affixed.

Easy fold, nice stable model with tons of variations. Used two colours of dotted DC paper with the same dark green on the back side to arrive at a one coloured star.

That was taken two years ago, finally decided to post process it and upload it....Been feeling lazy recently :S
This is a modular cube made of six Square Weave Tessellations. The connection method is mine, the authorship of the Square Weave Tessellation seems to be disputed ( www.origamitessellations.com/2006/10/square-weave-tessell... ) but it seems to go back to Shuzo Fujimoto.
Tabs that connect the model are rather small so the model is not very stable but it can support itself and with a little care it can be handled.

The Cube - is a stage with state of the art sound system, lighting fixtures and a digital projector.The outer shell of the 28' x 28' cube is composed of diamond extrusions strung together to form a flexible curtain that draws back;revealing the stage and the structure within.

Since returning from last weeks visit to Belgium and the Netherlands I've been laid low with covid.
Finally feeling I can start on editing my pictures tonight.

On is now a museum which I didn't have time to visit.
It is possible to arrange cubes along the three-fold axis like the tetrahedra in line. Here again the first and the last cube have to be interlocked. In contrast to the tetrahedra in line, it is not possible to extend them to a longer chain in this way.
The general formula for the paper size depends on the preferred folding method.
I like an extra amount of paper at each end, which is 3/4 of the width of the frame:
paper length : paper width = (0.375 +0.25*(n+1)) : 1
With the method by Tomoko Fuse, the extra amount of paper at each end is equal to the width of the frame, then:
paper length : paper width = (0.5+0.25*(n+1)) : 1

Made the vertex holes a bit larger. A nice Hydrangea variant which can be tessellated of course.
The Kinetic Cube is an alternate build using only the parts in the Kinetic Sphere.

A blank cube has a clock face appear, then changes to a clock face on all sides of it, then each clock face has changed into its own unique color.

This marvel of architecture is the creation of master Moses Safdie for the exposition Habitat 67 who took place during the World exposition in 1967 (called Expo 67).
Kubuswoningen, or cube houses, are a set of innovative houses built in Rotterdam and Helmond in The Netherlands, designed by architect Piet Blom in 1984. The houses in Rotterdam are located on Overblaak Street, and beside the Blaak Subway Station. Blom tilted the cube of a conventional house 45 degrees, and rested it upon a hexagon-shaped pylon. There are 38 small cubes and two so called 'super-cubes', all attached to each other.
As residents are disturbed so often by curious passers-by, one owner decided to open a "show cube", which is furnished as a normal house, and is making a living out of offering tours to visitors.
The houses contain three floors:
ground floor entrance; first floor with living room and open kitchen; second floor with two bedrooms and bathroom; top floor which is sometimes used as a small garden. The walls and windows are angled at 54.7 degrees. The total area of the apartment is around 100 square meters, but a quarter of the space is unusable because of the walls that are under the angled ceilings.
