Early spring blossoms against dark clouds of a late winter storm. Even had some snow overnight.

Storm clouds in our back garden

5 minutes after taking this shot I was hugging a tree with my back to the storm. I thought the hail stones were going to break my glasses.

With all the intense heat and choking wildfire smoke we've had in the last two months, my half stained fence has remained that way. Now that the weather and air quality have improved, I'm racing to complete it before we start getting rain.

While I have seen virga of rain and, separately, of snow, I just learned today that the phenomena are an indication of a downburst.

These power lines in northern Santa Clara County may originate at Hetch Hetchy Dam across California's Central Valley (will verify).

Each summer, clouds of monsoonal moisture from Arizona visit Central California, sometimes providing a rare thundershower around Greater San Francisco Bay.

I grew up around San Francisco, where brief thundershowers happened once or twice a year. As I my experience widened to Santa Clara County near the Santa Cruz Mountains and Contra Costa County near Mt. Diablo, I experienced more thundershowers.

This image shows Hole in the Wall Beach, a popular photography spot located in Jervis Bay, New South Wales, Australia. (Actually this is at Green Patch)

The beach is known for its white sand and clear waters.

The name "Hole in the Wall" comes from a sandstone rock formation at the northeastern end of the beach.

The area is part of the Booderee National Park and is a popular destination for tourists.

Jervis Bay is home to a variety of wildlife, including bottlenose dolphins and fur seals.

Taken from North Berkeley Hills, the sunset around the Winter Solstice appears over the South Tower of the Golden Gate Bridge. On the Solstice, the sun sets over Fort Point, at the northern tip of San Francisco.

Hail core outflow from the supercell that had large hail over Illiopolis and spawned tornadoes in Sangamon county.

It was mostly cloudy all day, twenty degrees cooler than yesterday, and unusually humid for June. When the sun did peek out from behind the clouds, it was very hot.

Much needed precipitation in the form of rain in low elevations and snow above 2,500 feet arriving soon.

Alas, it stayed north of the low end Tuolumne County. Only half way through winter, but below "normal" rainfall, or "former normal."

On the ABC Local radio ..

ABC Radio are running a program on getting your life back?

Moments in your life that were relaxing moments out of the rat race where you were " In the moment" rather than rushing and absorbed in a career or running a family, dashing to work, taking the kids to sport or filling up the car.

I thought of all the 1/125th sec moments at f5.6 that I have in my photo collection

I could select some of my 33,000 images for an album of "Moments in Life" then realised that 95% or so would be suitable.

At least most images in my "Favourites of my shots by others" might be suitable..
