The ex South African couple in the Nissan Patrol and Tracker van we met at the Pink Roadhouse can be followed on FB and Instagram @celiebee13
They had very bad luck with the weather with mud all the way up this track the next day after we managed it in 2WD.
They had front and rear diff lockers on in many of the bad spots, especially coming into the last few 100m into Mt Dare on the creek crossings. We managed the detour tracks there OK but when they got there in the dark the signs weren't
See the story about the trouble Hamilton Station has with some morons camping on the property here..

Some idiot got at the historic Eringa cattle yards with a chainsaw!!
They should go somewhere else far away from people who enjoy and respect historic remote places..

Hamilton Station
I need somewhere to vent my anger and total disgust. I’m sure you get plenty of emails like this, but I had to email someone about it.
Bob (my husband) went to Dalhousie a couple of months ago and noticed that camping facilities were available at Hamilton Station. He is going back through that way in a couple of weeks and we thought we’d check out the web for a description of facilities at Hamilton Station. It sounds wonderful and then I read the paragraph below about vandals and thieves.
We have travelled this country far and wide for over 40 years and have noticed a lot of vandalism over that time, as I’m sure you have, but this takes the cake. No wonder so many places are closing their gates to travellers. Some people are just morons! Sorry for the tirade, but it makes my blood boil. Like the police say, ‘See something, Say something’, or at least take a rego number. Theresia.
This is the information from Hamilton Station that Theresia mentions. It comes from the ExplorOz website.
www.exploroz.com/Places/40214/SA/Hamilton_Station.aspx
Hamilton Station is a working cattle station in South Australia, providing unpowered camping and cabins for travellers. Facilities include toilets, showers, laundry, BBQ's, fire pits and an undercover outdoor eating area. It is open from April to September.
hear the song about Hamilton Station here... youtu.be/ZxJsouz1kz8
Camping is not permitted anywhere else on Hamilton Station due to repeated issues with campers, livestock, watering points, fires, toilet paper and other rubbish. In addition, during the tourist season of 2013 some idiot took to the historic cattle yards at Eringa with a chainsaw (for firewood presumably). This was incredibly disappointing as these yards were erected in the early 1900's whilst owned by Sidney Kidman and they are a historical feature.
The Pastoral Board of SA has proclaimed that there be no camping between the official camping/cabin facilities provided and Dalhousie itself. As Dalhousie is only about 70kms from Hamilton homestead, there is no need for camping within the restricted areas and campers will be asked to vacate.
We have opened these camping facilities due to the increased tourist traffic and the issue this was causing in terms of camper safety and interference with cattle watering points. If you intend on camping on Hamilton Station, please only camp at the campground. If you wish to use the campground, we will welcome you with open arms!

Fantastic evening walking around the gardens at Inverewe. Then a walk back to the van for dinner, at dusk. Gin and tonics on this yacht at anchor, we wish!
We had a beautiful wander around these gardens in the most perfect light. But at the moment they are closed as the National Trust Scotland has decided to close them in the evenings for some obscure reason. You can help in the campaign to keep them open at this website..

PB010085 Strahan sunset crop for 3:1 Pano Group, 10-11-25
Hi all, (sic).
Here we are in Strahan with a sticky keyboard AND mouse, AND all over the monitor. I' think I'll ask for extra time as it's $2.50 for 15mins, but they are bust selling fisf and chips so they may not notice...
We had Pizza for dinner after having 2 previous disappointments at a sea side fishing village the past 2 nights.
Had a great cruise up the Gordon River on very calm black water. Reminded us of the oil indtallation art piece at the National Gallery a few years ago. You couldn't see into the water and had no perception of depth, just reflection.
Yesterday we rode on the Steam train to Queenstown. Dick Smith was at it's launch a few years ago. Yesterday was the launch of the second engine, No 5 I think, resumed from the Zeehan Museum.
Drove out to Hells Gates this morning via the coastal dunes west of Macquarie Harbour, then up to the Henty Dunes, but they were too damp to slide down so watched the quad bikes ride around.
Tomorrow head off up th Tarkine Road, or Road to Nowhere, as local called it.
probably camp a few nights in the wilderness, after one night at Zeehan, were we willl spend a few hrs looking at the Museum.
Just about out of time, it will take the next few minutes to get all the addresses inserted.
Have some more great photos and video of the train, river and rainforests.

When the wind is right on bridge, connecting tea Gardens and Hawks Nest (NSW) will sing – allegedly. They call it Singing Bridge, but I remain sceptical: the night I stayed there, the wind was a Force 5 gale. yet when I climbed the bridge the ironwork kept quiet. Though maybe just couldn’t compete with the songs howling out of the pub on Moira Avenue.

This is a panorama shot looking the same way as last night's Sunset During A Passing Thunderstorm. It was taken shortly before 2:00 p.m.
While there were very dark clouds over lower Tuolumne County, California, all day, it did not rain here. But friends 25-35 miles east up Hwy 108 reported heavy rain that afternoon.
A walk or stroll and wander from Ngunnawal to Yerrabi Pond.
All these images were shot with the Sony a6000 using the SEL55210 zoom lens, sent by Wi-Fi to the iPad, a few cropped there, then using the DELL laptop I logged onto iCloud and downloaded the three images to make the pano via a ZIP file to the DELL. The others, and the iPhone 8 shots were uploaded
There, I used ICE to stitch the pano, add tags, edit descriptions and add to Albums and Groups..
Into the third month of Winter (2015), and California's drought continues. These magnificent clouds brought no rain to the Central San Francisco Bay Area.
Now that it's Spring, we have more possibilities for precipitation than we did between the end of January and the second week of March. Had shorts on for a few days, then got an inch of snow.

How many people remember lying under the stars amongst the dunes past Ceduna and watching the Luna eclipse?
www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=lunar+ecli...
A total lunar eclipse took place on Monday, December 30, 1963. The Moon was plunged into darkness for 1 hour and 18 minutes, in a deep total eclipse which saw the Moon 33.5% of its diameter inside the Earth's umbral shadow. The visual effect of this depends on the state of the Earth's atmosphere, but the Moon may have been stained a deep red colour. The partial eclipse lasted for 3 hours and 24 minutes in total.[1]

Also known as Blue Krait.
Location: Kedah, Malaysia
Local name: Ular Katam Tebu
Thai: Ngoo tap saming kla, or ngoo kan plong
Length: 1.2m, max 1.6m
Toxicity: Very venomous (fatal)
Malayan krait or blue krait, is a species of krait, a venomous elapid snake.
Distribution: Entire southeast Asia from south Indochina south to Java and Bali in Indonesia.
Venom: In mice, the IV LD50 for this species is 0.1 mg/kg (Tan, N. H., 2013). It has caused an untreated mortality rate of 60-70% on humans. Blue Krait’s venom consists of extremely powerful neurotoxins (presynaptic and postsynaptic toxins). This "venom cocktail" directly impair the victim's capacity for thought or speech and have the power to immobilize the musculoskeletal system. Secondly, it also attacks victim’s respiratory system, causing suffocation within hours. However, if left untreated, death can come within four hours. The most horrifying fact is that the bite causes no pain, hence giving the victim false reassurance.
