Christy is a heavyweight bodybuilder. She is also a cancer survivor. Her nickname, "Bulldog," is a testament to her drive, determination, and perseverance.

She is also the sweetest person you will ever meet. And an elegant woman who happens to be a competitive bodybuilder.

I edited this photo with the new photoshop CS6 preview,

I must say I am rather pleased with the new features and look of photoshop.

first thing you see is the new interface (don't worry it's still the same, just with a more aperture/Lightroom look)

then, the new bur effects are great, easy to modify and create exactly what you want,

a big + here for adobe as it was betting annoying to have 10 layers just to get the blur you needed...

Then, the new way of saving file is great, you can finally keep working while the file saves,

remember all those 1gb+ file that need 1min to save... so much better

new better way to handle mask layers

I could just keep talking,

but, why not trying it out for yourself -it's free- labs.adobe.com/downloads/photoshopcs6.html

Please leave comments and questions about the new photoshop :)

a couple of days visiting friends in Suffolk (Hundon)

My daughter Caitlin shot on an overcast day using natural light only. The shot reflects Caitlin's contemplative, tired, but relaxed state at the time, I think.

This is perhaps my first serious attempt at a centrally composed portrait. Still not sure if I like it. I used the lense's maximum aperture. I did the b/w conversion and all shadows/highlight adjustments in Lightroom and cleaned and sharpened (highpass technique) in Photoshop CS6. A faint vignette was added in Lightroom.

the southern california timing association (SCTA) has been hosting land speed racing meets at el mirage dry lake in the mojave desert since 1937. racers come from all over california to test their skills, to see who can go the fastest in 1.3 miles from a standing start. the event is full of colorful cars, bikes and characters.

My next series of landscape images is one that I have wanted to do for sometime now.

Have you ever thought about what it would have looked like if you had just stepped off a Spanish Galleon in 1517 onto the shores of the Florida coast?

There would be no Asphalt or Concrete High Rise jungle to wonder through...no cars speeding by or planes flying overhead...no power lines or cell phone towers...but just a place of peace and harmony with Nature. No immediate sign of the Hand of Man, just the landscape itself and the wildlife that calls these places their home.

Last week while camping in my favorite Florida State Park, I walked just a few hundred yards my campsite to all but one of these panoramic landscape images. Myakka River State Park is by far a photographers paradise for both wildlife and scenic landscapes. It has nearly 7 miles of paved roadway lined with massive oak trees on either side of the road. Walk just a few hundred yards in and the landscape opens up into very large prairies of pines and palmettos.

So with camera in hand I made only a dozen or so panoramic mural size images in the five days that I stayed in this park. This was not my first rodeo here in this park as I have been camping here for the last 20 years. I generally stay in the Big Flats campground, one of three here. I also try to get site 10 or 11 as these two sites are right up against the woods where wildlife often wonder right up within 30 feet of my camper in the early morning or late afternoon hours. I have had many flocks of wild turkeys walk within 10 feet of my chair. So when I say this place is for the Nature Photographer...I mean it.

Many of the images in this next series are multi-images, sometimes up to 8 or 10 vertical images stitched together in PS CS6. I use a homegrown variety of pano head that I made for my Sony camera and Canon lenses that utilizes the Nodal Point of the lens, which is the location of the diaphragm inside of the lens, in which to pivot the lens on the tripod across the intended landscape image. The original file is 54 inches long.

A lovely Home in Yalesville, that had some nice looking lights hanging for the holidays. It was still quite dark out, being before 7 a.m. And while I was driving by, it just caught my attention enough to capture an image, using my small Gorilla Pod.
