Ok, the building pictured here is actually the university hospital of aachen, but its hard not so see fortress of evil in that architecture. So I went a little overboard and displayed it that way.

Another couple of hours in CS6 playing about with some of my smoke shots, multiple layers and blending modes later here is the result. I actually screen recorded the process to help me duplicate at a later date. I may post the recording at some point.

I decided to peer my lens very close to the Chain link Fence and focused on the wood pile.

Again, not the best perhaps: should probably have gradded the sky but thought I could get away with it, and it's slightly over I think. And obviously a wind issue in the foreground. But definitely the right choice of film for this one (over Velvia) - has added a nice bluish tint to the crops. The B&W version came out better in the end (only exposed two sheets on this scene - I feel poorer each time I shoot 5x4 so rarely shoot doubles of the same film stock on a given scene). I suppose I could crop off roughly the bottom half with this one for a panoramic, but I'll probably not bother.
Digitized with D800E and 60mm micro (though no idea why ISO 800, not that it's made much difference!), 4 frames stitched in CS6.

Seljalandsfoss is one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland. It is very picturesque and, therefore, its photo can be found in many books and calendars. I used elevation for this perspective - which most photographers do not attempt due to the vertical climb. I also used a new post processing technique on this photo. Instead of treaditional HDR, I combined 5 images in Photoshop CS6 and post edited in Lightroom 4.2 using 32-bit processing, with a 16-stop dynamic range for this image. I believe the results are more natural and less noisy than other techniques I've tried.

Warm sunrise along the frozen Potomac River from Leesylvania State Park in Virginia. Crossed paths here in the pre-dawn darkness with longtime Flickr friend and prolific Maryland photographer Ed Kreis. You'd be missing out not scrolling through his Photostream.
