Not the best of framing as I seemed to have cropped an interesting looking galaxy off at the top right. This was built from subs taken over Easter.

Stronvar station again. We are not into full autumn yet, but the colours are coming along nicely.
A big thanks to councelor Geoff Evans who let us descend on his farm to take photographs. It was a bit of a treck, so more power to Geoff who has to make the long round trip to Blenheim to attend councel meetings.

This photo was taken with my Soligor 400mm f6.3 pre-set telephoto lens with (2) two 2X Tele-extenders (4X), a Sun and a Vivitar TC that equals 1600mm and with the sensor factor of 1.5 equals 2400mm. I shot handheld at 1/1000 sec., f6.3, ISO 800. PP in Adobe Photoshop CS6 for corrections, etc. This was a test to see the quality using two (2X) tele extenders and shooting handheld. I will later try this with a full moon with and with out a tripod.
5 vertical hand-held shots stitched in Photoshop CS6. Near Skelgill, looking up towards Little Town.
These past few days, I've been watching tutorials on Youtube on how to edit pictures in Photoshop CS6.
I am messing around with the Adobe Photoshop CS6 beta version, and tried this somewhat poorly exposed image to see what it could do. I adjusted the exposure using the handy sliders, then used the automatic features for the color, tone, and contrast. Beyond that, I didn't touch this image. One neat feature is that CS6 works directly with RAW-format images, eliminating the need for a "middleman" program.
In any event, this is seen arriving Chicago O'Hare on March 18, 2012.

Ruth is a friend from the camera club, and she asked me to do this portrait for her job in realestate, so we tried to set just the right tone. So would you buy a house from this lady? I hope so.
Lit by a 60cm softbox with a 580EX2 on e-TTL (triggered by STE2) camera left, and a large window camera right. Balance set using AEC to control the ambient (window light)
BTW I initially set up the strobe using my Radio Poppers, but it would not fire, so being inside, I just used Canon IR. I later realised I had put the Radio Popper transmitter on the STE2 back to front. (You need it to be over the front of an STE2). I've just not done a lot of portrait work recently, and made a silly mistake. I hope my fronting up saves someone else making the same mistake one day.
