After numerous attempts during visits spanning six years, I managed to finally get this splendid location in sunshine, arguably the finest location on this stretch of line. On 21st January 2020, and observed by the crossing keeper holding his flag, Ol49-59 heads away from Nowawies Mochy station working the 11:48 Wolsztyn to Leszno passenger service.

The Forth Road Bridge is a suspension bridge in east central Scotland. The bridge, opened in 1964, spans the Firth of Forth, connecting Edinburgh, at Queensferry, to Fife, at North Queensferry. It replaced a centuries-old ferry service to carry vehicular traffic, cyclists and pedestrians across the Forth; railway crossings are made by the adjacent Forth Bridge, opened in 1890.
The Scottish Parliament voted to scrap tolls on the bridge from February 2008. The bridge was nearing the end of its life in the 2010s, and a parallel replacement was built. On 5 September 2017 the bridge carried its final private cars, as the vast majority of traffic was transferred to the new Queensferry Crossing. Following a few weeks closure for repairs, the new role of the Forth Road Bridge will be as a public transport corridor, open only to buses, taxis, cyclists and pedestrians. At its peak, the Forth Road Bridge carried 65,000 vehicles per day (vpd), which is now expected to drop to only a few hundred following the opening of the Queensferry Crossing.
The sun has just slipped behind a clearing in the storm clouds and behind the Rocky Mountains as a westbound BNSF coal load begins it's assault on the Rockies at the first gated crossing west of Helena, Montana on a stormy summer night. The crossing gate activation is captured in this 30-second long exposure.

A shot I was never happy with, but 10 years later have decided to upload it. Southern E4 B473 was visiting the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, and was seen in action at Whitefield Crossing on the 28th of May 2011.
We camped alongside Terrace Creek, and fell asleep each night to the sounds of a babbling waterfall. Hiking poles came in handy on the many stream crossings.
CN L536 rolls underneath the former LS&MS and PRR (PFW&C) bridges and the Chicago Skyway at Grand Crossing. Before grade separation in 1907, Grand Crossing consisted of 64 diamonds with over 500 train movements a day. In addition, the intersection of 75th and South Chicago was located at grade with the IC just due north of the junction. It was once known as the most dangerous railroad crossing in the world.
A familiar sight now, though the old Forth Road bridge is still being used, but not at the same levels. The new bridge has 2 expansion (?) joints; the old, over 100, so blindfold, you would know which bridge you are crossing!
