This is what you will have created when you complete the free Get Started With Terragen2 tutorial that you can pick up at the link below.

Many people have been discouraged by the steep learning curve that faces them when first confronted with the program's user interface. My tutorial will take you on a step-by-step journey to create this mountain scene. The tutorial is very easy to follow, and it is compiled in a pdf format to make it as accessible as possible. When you have completed it you should have the confidence to start creating your own Terragen 2 scenes.
Good luck

For my last quarter at UC Santa Cruz, I was finally able to take intro to photo. this batch is taken from my first assignment: the photo scavenger hunt. We basically had to go down a list of things that were supposed to inspire us to shoot a variety of different things. I had fun with it. The category each picture is from is the name of each photo.

In November I decided to paint NINETY paintings in thirty days! It was crazy, but I almost made it. This is one of them. You can read more about how the project got started here:
What lies before
us and what
lies behind us
is but a small
matter compared
to what lies within us.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
The need to create is one of the strongest and most beautiful desires we humans have. There is such power and magic in creating Beauty in any of her forms. For me the need to create is sometimes overwhelming, almost suffocating. The need to create Beauty is all consuming. I believe that all of us are driven to find someway to express ourselves, find our own individuality, to share with others who we truly are. And what is more beautiful and powerful, overwhelming and magical, than creating life? Aren't we all drawn to creating something that has a little bit of our soul mixed in? The photo above is of a painting I did last night while thinking of my own little one that I learned was on their way only a week ago. I have life growing in me, each day it grows bigger and stronger. And it is breathtakingly wonderful, and beautiful. I want to make a life for this child to be wondrous and full of light. I want to create a place of love, in and out of my being. A place where dreams come true. I am going to be a mother.
I saved little bits of leftover embroidery floss snippings each day as I stitched - over the past couple of weeks and glued them to the page.
I may keep adding to this page until it is completely covered ... but for now, I am ready to move on.
Just made this 'cause I love the sayings in this set. I used some paper from DCWVLa Creme matstack. It is an amazing stack of flocked and embossed papers in blacks and creams.

Our Maker Art class created a Haunted House in fall 2016. In this after-school workshop at the Lycée Français, students ages 7 to 10 built a fantasy world together, with magical creatures, ghosts, witches and other spooky characters.
We combined arts and technology to bring their creations to life: each student created their own room in our haunted house, and animated their characters with motors and simple mechanisms, adding lights and sounds to tell their stories.
Students started by designing their rooms and characters, and built them in their own cardboard ‘wonderboxes.’ We then asked them to sketch up their individual visions of the Haunted House and combined them together. Children worked in teams to build some of the more complex features: a clock tower, an elevator and an animated graveyard zombie, all powered with Arduino boards.
I’m very grateful to my associate teachers for this class: Sarah Brewer and Edward Janne were amazing partners and empowered our students to create their own interactive art, helping them bring their ideas to life in a playful way that made learning more fun.
We taught this class weekly at the Lycée Français in Sausalito, with 8 school students in grades 3, 4 and 5. We met every Thursday at 3:30pm, from September 15 to December 8, 2016. Many of the materials we used in this class were prepared at Tam Makers, our makerspace in Mill Valley.

Created for the IWG / Rocketworld "Humans Beware" show on April 10th!
Vespbear was your typical robot bear, waging war against the Human Resistance force just like a good robot bear should. One evening, after a long and satisfying day crushing the skulls of men, he was on his final patrol when a group of fiendishly devious humans lead him into a minefield... Blown apart and with his head caved in, he was able to drag himself out of the dangerzone before going offline.
On re-initialisation, he found that he had been rebuilt with the help of an old Vespa and had been give an external robobrain with upgraded visual sensors! Vespbear the recon unit was born, hell bent on scoping out enemy positions and minefields and making sure this could never happen to another proud robot warrior. Just don't send him up stairs.
