Hip shot of this cool looking guy in a New York street. I liked how the different tones of black and grey in this scene contrasted nicely with his amazing headscarf colour and the thin orange drawstrings hanging from his trousers.

I photographed these cooling towers yesterday at dusk after reading about them in Sunday's paper. I'd not see them before and it took me a while to discover the best viewpoint to photograph them, about 2km away from the power station. I'm currently writing a blog post describing how I used Google Maps, Google Street View and PhotoPills to find an unobstructed viewpoint with easy parking at the right time of day. A strawberry slice with a high key look. The actual colors are changed to get this cool blue look by modifying the hue element. I liked it this way better than the original colors. It was the just a last minute change that i did just before the upload.
I think i am getting older and lethargic that i just don't get myself outdoors these days ;) got to change..

Such a contrast of bus bodies from Alexander, the long established Olympian, produced in vast quantities for the UK & Irish markets, gave way to a completely different body of the ALX400, with the breakthrough to low floor kneeling buses. Its hard to find any similarities between the two buses, a blank canvas.
Here is my Cortado photo again, which I've tweaked with the Cool Beans pre-set in Topaz Studio.
Topaz Studio has got the layer blending modes that you'd find in Photoshop, and an opacity slider (at the bottom of the interface) so you can blend it with your original photo.
Camera: my iPhone 7 with the ProCamera app set on a 3 second timer. Edited on my PC with Lightroom 5 and Photoshop Elements 11.

As I woke up this morning and read the online news as I usually do, my heart just sank. Between the Israel - Iran conflict, another 59 deaths in Gaza, Putin bombing Kyiv again and no doubt others waiting in the wings to move as eyes are looking elsewhere, the world must be closer to all out conflict than in 80 years.
And many leaders and politicians in countries that should be working to de-escalate the problems seem intent on language and proposed action that will just cause the opposite. The "good men" seem in the background, unable to gain traction or a strong voice.
Everyone needs to pull back, to cool off before someone hits a red button somewhere! Go back and enter some good old fashioned genuine diplomacy. The hot heads can go jump in this pool and slow their brains or whatever is between their ears before a nuclear winter or just the "red weed"* descends on us all.

This is the calm before the storm I guess since we have a weather system moving in to deliver 4-5" of snow this afternoon into tomorrow.
