Though not an outdoor doggie, we try to spend as much time as we can with Sable outside. Today with the temperature feeling like 35°C (95°F) we decided to break out the kiddie pool, but not stay out for too long.

Wikipedia:

""Wedge Island is located north of Lancelin and South of Cervantes on the Western Australian coast. The name mainly refers to the mainland settlement but also refers to a 400 metres (1,300 ft) long wedge shaped island located just south of "the point". The island itself is a declared nature reserve.

The settlement is home to approximately 350 beach shacks that are used by crayfishermen and holiday-goers. Wedge can be accessed via bush tracks and the beach if the tide is out. The beach and some of the tracks are on a military firing range and are cut off to the public during live firing.

""

It is an area of pristine coastline, but an extremely harsh environment. No water or electricity and the temperatures can be unbearably hot with very little shelter from the sun.

When I see nice old cars when working I try to get my camera and photograph them. I hope everyone has a great Sunday. :D

This is an interesting little set that I took the other night after getting somewhat sunburnt. It always happens the first time my poor bod see the sun it goes and gets burnt, yes I know its not good and yes I will be more carful hence why today I wore the blouse.

Cooling down now though so that's good. I do need to get some exercise in as I have put a few pounds on through boredom comfort eating and no dancing. so tonight I am going to do a couple of hours of practice in the living room on my own.

And in reply to Hannah I normally only wear one outfit a day unless I am doing something that requires changing. or I am just playing dress up lol

Some old time farm items I thought made a pretty nice photo op. The large piece is I believe a seed spreader of some sort, and the container is what I believe to have been used for milk. I'm not sure how old these are, but they have definitely been around for quite awhile.

This was converted with the plugin Topaz Black & White Effects, and processed in Photoshop CS5. Great for old time effects!

Finally a viewing of the new moose calf in the neighborhood. This was the 4th of July and they spent most of the day bedded down in the trees behind my mother-in-law's cabin. They finally came out and went to the river to get a drink, cool off and then disappear into the willows.. This was taken from a dock, while a flotilla of exuberant families in kayaks ,rafts, and inner tubes floated by behind me --- and early fireworks boomed everywhere. Mama and calf took it all pretty well.

The human eye can see many things much better than the camera, dynamic range, fast focus. But it cannot see what is revealed in long exposures. I did not realize how the water vapor looked at the top of these cooling towers until I saw it in the camera screen after a few second exposure.

Hi-tech, power tools and stuff may be way cool, but for certain tasks lo-tech solutions still work best, don't you think? :-)

A 4 pack of treats has just arrived at Shops roundhouse in Fond du Lac off an unknown train. Say what you will about the CN, you're not going to find a lash like this on any other Class 1. And if you do its pretty rare.
