Sexy and laidback !!!;-D!!!

Willington Power Stations were constructed in the 1950s. Two coal-fired power stations were built on a site off Twyford Road, between Willington and Findern. The two power stations had an installed capacity totaling 804 M.W.

The five cooling towers were each 300ft high and approximately 200ft in diameter at the base and each weighed 6,500 tons.

The station was decommissioned in March 1999.

The canal is the Trent and Mersey canal. The Trent & Mersey Canal, engineered by James Brindley, was the country’s first long-distance canal. It is full of interesting features, which reflect its history. These include Harecastle Tunnel, the lengthy lock flight known as ‘Heartbreak Hill’, and the traditional canal town of Shardlow.

The cooling tower at Aberthaw Power Station. A really odd structure which rises out the sea - it reminds me a bit of Atlantis! Taken from my son's boat while cruising along at 22 knots so apologies for any blur! It was taken on a very rare day with flat seas, no wind and blue skies!!

Andres is not cool, but he tries. xD

After the claustrophobic and body-crunching atmosphere of the Blue Moon, a quiet moment on the boardwalk was just what I needed. I still can't decide whether these boots are funky or dull - but one thing is for sure . . . they're super comfy, and I value comfort over everything when out and about!

This lady was feeding the pigeons. I liked the way she wore her age, without any complex, without any deception. That's how I want to age.

â–¶ Photographer's note:

On 1 October 2019, Flickr's editors selected this image for inclusion in Flickr's Explore feature.

The image entered at position #139 out of 500 selected that day. At some point afterward, it was 'bumped' from the rolls. (There are, indeed, numerous posts on Flickr-related forums wondering at the arcane year-to-year mutability of Flickr's Explore algorithm.)
