Very cool looking icicles that rise from the floor of a cave in Kootenay National park.

If you've got a desire to travel, why don't you check out the site? Big Brother Backpacking.

Found this hooded oriole having a ball splashing about in the water on a hot day in south Texas. It was quite the social bird, putting on a dazzling display of bathing and water splashing. The hooded oriole is one of 10 different oriole species that can be found in North America.

I know that many of us can relate to the heat these days. 107 degrees as we traveled through Colorado yesterday afternoon. The good news for us is that if we travel upwards in elevation, it gets tremendously cooler ... often by 20-25 degrees, sometimes more. I hope that everyone finds ways to cool off this summer. :-)

The lovely old stone bridge crossing over the crystal clear water of the River Derwent at Grange near Keswick in the Lake District.

Anna enjoys soaking her front feet in the water bucket, even if it means dirtying the herd's water supply. I had just noticed that the bucket was brimming with fresh, clean water, filled by the morning's volunteer. Anna does this more during the summer, to cool off, I assume, so it was strange to see her soaking her feet on a cloudy spring day.

Was a hot July weekend when we ventured over to Pot Branch Falls. The air was still, but as we got nearer the falls the temperature began to drop. The cool water was refreshing after hiking in the hot afternoon sun.

Just a cool, blue winter morning in the mountains of Northern Utah.

On an extremely hot day in Dawlish this duck decided it was time to flap wildly and use the water to cool down.

beim heutigen heißen Vor-Sommer-Wetter ist es eine gute Idee, einfach mal abzutauchen... mach's wie der Frosch! ;-)))

Love the distorted hand in this one.

JR got this cool toy for his son at the Maine Wildlife Park... I think we've played with it more now!

And they were cool! But I am in need of some blue! I don't remember such a long, prolonged, cold. Working on fuel tank sender and even in brilliant sunshine it needed hats, and the wind increased and became bitter again. All the folk preparing boats to race in two weeks time were complaining ....Lol! Never seen such a lack of enthusiasm. So not just me getting soft in my old age - this has been awful weather.

We paid a visit to Bamburgh today and had a walk along the beach. This dog was thoroughly enjoying itself, cooling off in the sea, on one of the hottest days of the year so far!

Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment or fav my images.

One of the few cool and crisp mornings we have had. Funny thing is this snow and ice was only present on this side of the river and for only a couple of hours.

I could use a bit of this coolness right now.
