Pierre Hermé Pastries

I received an advanced copy of Pierre Hermé Pastries since November 2011 but the publisher made me not to write about this excellent cookbook until now (since it's officially released on March 1, 2012).

If you have been following my Flickr uploading since November, there's little "blips" of his recipes showing up on my photostream.

At TEDGLOBAL in Arusha, Tanzania in June 2007, BETUMI: The African Culinary Network launched the Africa Cookbook Project; whose goal is to collect and house the world's most comprehensive archive of African cookbooks. The aim is to document and preserve all African culinary writing by Africans and others.

I am giving this cookbook and spoon away, for more info, see here:

Only stopped by three thrift stores today - one had all books on sale (50% off!) and they had a lot of cookbooks!

From the top left: Cooking from Scratch - Pilot Club of Athens (c.1984), Cookies Galore (c.2006), Saints Preserved - Emmanuel Episcopal Church-Athens GA (no copyright date - appears to be from the early 70's), Foodarama Party Book (c.1959) and BH&G Snacks & Appetizers (c.1974). Also found a cute Glasbak mug for a quarter!
