Life Time Contribution to Tiatr Awards 2019 (Non-commercial) on the occasion of Birth Anniversary of Lucasinho Ribeiro, creator of Tiatr. At Gomant Vidya Niketan Margao on 2.1.2019. Five Awardees are: Joao Carmin Braganza, John Charles Fernandes, John Francisco Dias Piuxa, Jeronio Damasceno Brito and Hilario Braganza.
Chitra Afonso, Tiatrist and Vice Principal of St. Alex Higher Secondary School, Curtorim was the Chief Guest.

A static contribution at RIAT 2016 of one of the most handsome jets ever designed, the Hawker Hunter. Although a Swiss Air Force export Hunter F58, this aircraft is painted in possibly the nicest Hunter scheme ever devised for RAF aircraft, with red/blue roundels and tail flash but just before wrap-around camouflage gloomed down all tactical types. This aircraft is operated in support of the RAF by Hawker Hunter Aviation Limited.
CONTRIBUTIONS OF AMAZONIAN INDIANS
During thousands of years of cultural development, the Indians of Amazonia made a number of inventions and discoveries later adopted worldwide. Foremost among them were several cultivated plants. Manioc, first domesticated in Amazonia, became a staple crop in much of tropical Africa, Asia and the Pacific. Tapioca, the fine flour derived from manioc, is now well known the world over. Other food plants probably first domesticated in Amazonia include sweet potatoes, capsicum peppers, peanuts, papayas and pineapples.
Tobacco and its principal forms of use- cigarettes, cigars, pipes and snuff-also originated in Amazonia. Other plants whose medicinal or narcotic effects were first discovered by Amazonian Indians include coca and curare, the well-known blowgun poison. Because of its muscle-relaxing properties, curarine, the active agent in curare, is today widely used in surgery to prevent muscle spasms.
The comfortable and convenient hammock, all but universal in Amazonia, was soon copied by the outside world; even the British Navy adopted it. The barbecue, first seen by Europeans in the West Indies, has become a popular backyard fixture. Rubber, first used in Amazonia, provided the raw material for such Amazonian inventions as the rubber ball and the enema syringe. Silk cotton (kapok), which the Indians used to wrap the butt ends of blowgun darts, was used by Europeans to fill life preservers because of its light weight and water resistance.
Central Equatoria State, 29 August, 2025: In Juba, some 83 dedicated peacekeepers from India, Mongolia, and Japan have been awarded the UN Medal of Honor, celebrating their contributions to supporting peace in South Sudan. Medal recipients include six women and nine staff and military officers. They played a crucial role in providing medical and technical services that significantly enhanced the lives of local communities.

My contribution to the fall photo medley. I thought this almost looked like a watercolor painting.
It was such a perfect day out on the Kittatinny Ridge along the Delaware Water Gap. We hiked a section of the Appalachian Trail. And for awhile, we didn't pass any other hikers, and I started wondering if maybe the whole Appalachian Trail odyssey is a relic of the past-- that our culture is too busy or too recreational-fun-oriented to really devote the time to such a journey. But then we passed 7+ hikers setting up camp for the evening, and all was once again right with the world.
My contribution to a Christmas Ornament exchange group. Sadly, these didn't turn out nearly as nice as I had hoped, but I figure people can hang these at the back of the tree. :-) See Blatherings.
