Update 10/2/18 The Unitek demolition work continues today. The CHI crew are cutting holes in the walls for the ducting and installing forms for the new bathroom wall. The electrician is having a hard time pulling out old wiring to free up the conduit. Maybe rusted conduit? And the plumber needs a vent route for the janitor closet sink. The plumber is working in the crawl space today and roughing in on the first floor.

According to Phase 2 plans the Tel/Data wiring will come from the two separate concrete pull boxes in the ground close to S84. Just need Spectrum to confirm they can bring their wiring to the pull boxes and into the S84 basement panels.

Well flikr has changed!! Will wait to see how things pan out... I hope it just doesn't become a dumping ground for mobile phone pics to get web traffic and sell adverts..

Anyways.. I am now doing photography full time (well in between other stuff!!). I am building up a website for fine art print sales and have sold a few prints at fairs/ markets and got a lot of good feedback. I will continue to be active on here as long as it isn't too broken...!!

Christian loves taking series of me. It's too bad the slideshow function on Flickr is too slow for you to enjoy it in full effect. When I click through them at home, it totally looks like I'm animated.

As the fight continues, I know what the end result will be as I have seen this happen on a daily basis. Choco will win the fight - he has behaviour problems from a previous owner and won't stop fighting till he wins. At the left of the picture, Moushka looks on and stays right out of the action. 3:10pm, Saturday 23rd July, 2011.

The hatter took this pic too, and it's pretty good. I guess there is a good view from the roof.

But it could all have gone very wrong. I imagined myself being grilled by Chief Inspector Barnaby's Irish cousin, Chief Inspector Blarney of the Gardai: "two women lying dead beneath an open window on the third floor, and you two men and this strange woman expect us to believe they just climbed out the window and along the drainpipe because they wanted to see the view from the roof?!!! Do you take the police for complete idiots, Mr. 2cents?"

I wouldn't have believed me either!

(by the way, if you look at this in the largest size you'll see a huge Grey Heron beneath the bridge)

Our second stop that day was the Goonies house, which was up a steep hill in Astoria. There were signs requesting that people park down below and walk up to the house.

Continuing with the project idea which started with Yarmouth a while back.

This time a wander around Shanklin (as suggested by Sue) before it gets too cold.

Did not get all the locations that I had planned as I managed to drop camera down some stone steps.... several sickening crunches later realised that organising a lens repair was in order.... :(

We continue our exploration of Forest Park Il. Moving out of Forest Lawn Cemetery and back to the land of the living. We go about half a mile east down Harrison where we ecounter St. Bernadine Catholic church. It's a beautiful old church with some nice architectural ornamentation.

Across the street we find a different sort of house of worship with the Ferrara Pan Candy factory and store. For those who seek their spiritual salvation through sweet treats this is Mecca. Since they moved out here from Taylor street in the 1950's the Atomic Fireballs, Red Hots, Lemon Heads, Jawbreakers and all their delectable creations have been rolling out by the truck road.

We have also posted a video of this church on ChiTownView.

Here we go again...our first round was 10 inches...here it is already another 6 inches: not only Superbowl Sunday, but Supersnow Sunday, with an arctic freeze coming tonight.

....and it is still snowing

I got some "daylight simulating" bulbs and OH MY GOD are they blindingly bright. I have no natural light inside so I really need to be able to use my lightbox in a pinch, but I have trouble getting it lit up enough/evenly. I need at least one more lamp.

(I constructed this DIY lightbox, nicknamed Quasimodo, from this tutorial.)

For the fourth day two dozens refugees continue their hunger strike in Berlin at famous Brandenbug Gate. They struggle for better rights and a chenge of the European asylum policy also as for their status as refugees in Germany.

Watercolor pencil.

takes me about 3 days.

Drawing that airplane makes me so mad because the wings and engine are too complicated.

The train and cruise ship are easier.

I shouldn't put such a big airplane in the middle !
