They do major overhauls on the tram tracks close to my home. They close the line with the last tram on Friday. Start on Saturday morning ripping out all tracks and ground work, laying the new tracks on Sunday morning and start attaching the new track with concrete on Sunday afternoon.

Monday morning, the trams run nearly normal again.

They manage to get around 200 - 300 metres of track replaced over one weekend.

I noticed this building coming up opposite to my current office. The lights at different levels create a majestic effect at night. Finally I got Arul’s tripod to try this out. Frankly this is not what I had in mind. But this is what I could manage at the end!!!

Here comes an impressive photo of our #Liebherr944 on site in St.Petersburg, Russia. This time our team is engaged in a large-scale redevelopment project of an old munitions factory.

The site used to be full of hazardous and explosive materials, that's why our customer was in need for qualified remeditation works. This project includes all kinds of dismantling, demolition and recycling works on site for the future development of the area.

Demolition is a passion for our team. #Razmax group is a trusted facility and environmental solutions company from St.Petersburg, Russia. The geography of our projects is spread around our huge country, we are an experienced contractor for demolition works in sub-zero weather conditions on the most difficult sites across the Far North of Russian Federation wherever our customer is in need for our skills. This time here comes a lifestyle shot of our #Liebherr944 operator - Dmitriy looking glad for his intense work during the new year's holidays in Russia.

Tindal Square during the ongoing 'Tindal Square and Market Road Public Realm Improvements' construction works taking place thru January-October 2022 in the City of Chelmsford in the County of Essex (UK).

Tindal Square and the surrounding area including the historic Shire Hall which is included in the project feature numerous times elsewhere in my photostream.

Tindal Square is named after Judge Nicolas Conyngham Tindal (1776-1846) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicholas_Conyngham_Tindal, a name synonymous with the history of Chelmsford.

As you can see from my photographs work has resumed on the multi-million Greystones harbour and marina development project, with the first of more than 350 new homes expected to be offered for sale by April 2016. Because of the weather I did not photograph the new houses. The project has already seen the old Victorian era harbour replaced by a new structure with south and north piers, a large marina and ongoing work on five new clubhouses for sea scouts, divers, sailors, rowers and anglers. Also included in the project is a coastguard station, a new town square, a 16-acre public park, a new beach and marine-related shops and leisure facilities. It should be interesting to see if the ‘Public Areas’ are truly public and if the remain so for more than a year or two … I say this because there are many signs indicating that Fishing, Swimming or Jumping was not allowed. I will visit again later in the year, assuming that the weather improves.

On the way home from work.

It was tough to capture the mood of this construction of steel, glass and wood in the sun through the fence that surrounded the site. I'll keep looking for a better angle in the coming days.

Wuppertal's main station is a classicist marvel from 1848. It is one of the oldest surviving structures of its kind. Unfortunately it has been marred by ugly additions and alterations. Right now a reconstruction project has been started. When it is finished, the historic structure will have regained its original form (more or less, that is). My photo series documents the destruction of the awning from the 1960s.

Concrete gang laying a concrete floor slab. The concrete, which is pumped into a bay, is shovelled to achieve an approximate level. A labourer then uses a tamping bar to provide a flat floor finish. The concrete labourer on the right is tidying up the floor slab edges.

Scarcity & Creativity Studio is a masters course in architecture at The Oslo School of Architecture & Design, in which I participated this winter/spring. This is a so-called "design and build" studio, where students get the chance to realize their own projects, for real clients. This semester we built a sauna w/ outdoor areas for the future art and culture production centre by the owner of Villa Lofoten, in Kleivan, Vestvågøy.

ConstructionWork began on the project in 1994 and cost £1 million. Most of the project funding was provided by the National Lottery.

Due to its exposed location, the sculpture was built to withstand winds of over 100 mph (160 km/h). Thus, 600 tonnes of concrete were used to create foundations which anchor the sculpture to rock 70ft (20m) below.

The sculpture was built at Hartlepool Steel Fabrications Ltd. using Corten weather resistant steel. It was made in three parts—with the body weighing 100 tonnes and two wings weighing 50 tonnes each—then brought to its site by road. It took seven hours for the body to be transported from its construction site in Hartlepool, up the A19 road to the site.

Construction work on the Angel was finished on 16 February 1998. It aroused some controversy in British newspapers, at first, while local councillor, Martin Callanan, was especially strong in his opposition. It is now considered by some as a landmark for the Northeast of England[4][5] and has been listed by one organisation as an "Icon of England".

The sculpture was decorated in 1998 by fans of the Newcastle United football team who paid tribute to local hero Alan Shearer by putting a £1,000 team shirt over the Angel, complete with Shearer's name and famous number 9. The shirt stayed up for 20 minutes until the police removed it.

The sculpture is known locally as the "Gateshead Flasher", because of its location and appearance.

Rural Indian women do a surprising amount of hard physical labour in the hot sun, from before dawn to late at night. This woman and her three colleagues were doing hard construction labour at the site of new road building. Their colourful and delicate traditional dress seemed to jar with the dirty sweaty work, but they seemed happy enough and engaged in friendly banter with me. They were also at ease with being photographed.

no. everything is fine here.

The bridge in the foregournd has just been rebuilt. It will soon be reopened. The monorail station (which you have to imagine just left of the bridge) is still in the process of reconstruction. When it's finished it will resemble the original structure.
