This man, Micky Marr, has been cooking 6oz Rocks (Roquefort Burgers) for me for over 35 years with his wife Suzie in charge of front-of-house at Bells Diner, Edinburgh; a true gem.
A unique and much-beloved culinary institution in Stockbridge dating back to 1972 when it was opened by Bill Allan, it will, unbelievably, close on 23 March. War, Pestilence, Corruption, Dictatorship, Abject Political Constipation and now this....
Having had my Last Supper last night, for the first time in all the too many years did I decide I had to cross the threshold of the tiny kitchen and meet the man who had served us all so very well.
Nobody could deny that Micky and Suzie fully deserve some peace and quiet after decades of flawless service but they will leave behind a tiny enormous hole in the culinary repertoire of Edinburgh and memories of many happy relaxed evenings in the warm embrace of the Wonderful Bells Diner.
So selfish.......

A 65 year old female with history of hypertension, diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis presents with three months of constipation and rectal bleeding. She initially attributed the bleeding to hemorrhoids, but the symptoms continued to worsen. She has never had a colonoscopy, but states that her mother died of "bad colon cancer." Vital signs are stable, and physical examination is notable only for a palpable rectal mass. Laboratory examination reveals anemia. The patient undergoes colonoscopic biopsy of the lesion. Which of the following histopathologic findings is consistent with the diagnosis seen below?
a. Invasive neoplasm with squamous pearl formation, foci of keratinization and areas of granular necrosis
b. Invasive glandular and tubular structures lined by uniform mucus-producing columnar epithelium
c. Invasive lesion composed of nested, pigmented epithelioid cells exhibiting positivity for S100, HMB-45 and Melan A
d. Dilated, thick-walled submucosal vessels and sinusoidal spaces with adjacent hemorrhage
e. Spindle-shaped cells with large and hyperchromatic nuclei, eosinophilic cytoplasm and positivity for S-100, vimentin, cytokeratin and negative for CEA

My first ever location shoot!
I finally had the courage, willpower and discipline to actually DO it. This may seem like a no-brainer to most photogs but for me, it took a lot of mental and psychological preparation. I've been struggling to do some Strobist work out in the open because I still felt very *gulp* insecure about my capability to deliver quality photographs, at the very least sense of the phrase. I've imagined so much lighting set-ups, hard with soft, color for/against color, ambient with flashes which I've tried to execute these past couple of weeks, all of which to little or no avail. More often than not, I forget several elements of the equation like White Balance, perspective, time, people skills, and even the ability to anticipate, ultimately ruining the session. In short, I was experiencing Creative Constipation.
Over this weekend I had a larger-than-usual dose of very inspiring Flickr entries, giving me that boost to GOYA (Get off your ["my" in this case] ass) and plan a shoot that will have enough preparation to merit an output. Not going into the details, All I'm going to say is that it wasn't exactly the perfect photo shoot but it was absolutely exhilarating to finally get it done. Whatever I thought I was going to do went out the window as soon as I got to the place, but what's different this time is, I KNOW that's okay! Even though I did a whole lot of chimping, I KNOW that's okay as well! I didn't panic in moments of supposed dead-ends but instead I did what I had to do to adapt to the situation. I felt so free and victorious to finally conquer this bothersome "monster". Of course I still felt the tension I usually feel leading to the usual gear drop, (just a radio receiver, whew!) but I know the whole experience was a very high point of my life as a Photographic Artist.
To everyone who's given any encouragement or criticism: Thank you SO much. There will be more to come, so please do continue to support my work.
More importantly, I have to thank my very supportive girlfriend who had so much to do with my joy to this art. I Love You Ate!

This follows legal action by Network Rail, which owns the station buildings including the forecourt adjoining High Road, Tottenham.
But a large amount of waste still remains on site.
(Please scroll down to the page.)
Several years ago the station was restored and the arches under the station were used for small businesses. Eventually the whole forecourt was filled with DIY structures.
When people talk about old buildings they often use the platitude: "bringing it back to its former glory" But there is nothing particularly glorious about this station. It's simply Victorian and old.
But elsewhere, solid sound old structures are made a little glorious by skilled and imaginative architects and engineers. They value, restore and enhance the old by matching it cleverly with the new. Often using modern materials and technology.
I've always hoped that something like this could be achieved with Bruce Grove Station.

Italian Prune Plums are also known as Sugar Plums or Empress Plums (prunus Domestica). More oval-shaped than Satsuma or Damson, they have a deep, purply skin with golden flesh and a freestone pit inside. These wonderfully sweet plums are perfect for baking or cooking (try them in a kuchen pastry or tart), and, as their name indicates, they're also great for drying. Store ripe sugar plums, unwashed, in the fridge.
Prune juice is made by softening these plumss through steaming and then putting them through a pulper to create a watery puree. Prunes and their "juice" contain the natural laxative dihydrophenylisatin. Faster results are obtained by heating the prune juice. Prunes also contain dietary fiber (about 6%, or 0.06 g per gram of prune). Prunes and prune juice are thus common home remedies for constipation. Prunes also have a high antioxidant content.
I made a tart with these plums.
Han: Look, instead of making snarky comments, why don't you make yourself useful and see what's taking that guy in there so long?
Chewie: What do you expect me to do?
Han: I dunno, knock on the door and ask him how much longer he's gonna be or something. For all we know, that guy could be dead on the crapper like Elvis! Somebody's gotta do something!
Chewie: I think he's quite alive- I can hear him grunting and groaning in there!
Han: Grunting and groaning? Ya don't think he's in there playing with his...
Chewie: Eww! I hope not! That john is probably enough of a biohazard as is without having to worry about THAT all over the seats.
Han: I almost wouldn't blame him - some of those chicks in those "Slave Girl Leia" costumes were pretty hot!
Leia: EXCUSE ME? I'M STANDING RIGHT HERE!
Han: Calm down, baby you know you're my number one lady!
Leia: Hmmph!

Bitter melon is a plant. The fruit and seeds are used to make medicine.
Bitter melon is used for various stomach and intestinal disorders including gastrointestinal (GI) upset, ulcers, colitis, constipation, and intestinal worms. It is also used for diabetes, kidney stones, fever, a skin condition called psoriasis, and liver disease; to start menstruation; and as supportive treatment for people with HIV/AIDS.
Topically, bitter melon is used for deep skin infections (abscesses) and wounds.
Bitter melon is used as a vegetable in India and other Asian countries and as an ingredient in some kinds of curries.

The hardest thing I've ever tried shooting is a fishes anus!
(Bare with me!)
The betta looked a little swollen when I got him, probable reasons it could be are;
Constipation, this is common as they are normally only fed a flake mix and not insects etc. (typical frozen foods)
The second is intestinal worms, also quite common. Here we have camallanus infecting the betta, it is easy to diagnose as you have red/brownish bristles protruding from the anal vent.
After confirming worms I phoned the dealer, as the course of treatment will finish outside of the 7 day guarantee and I didn't want to replace this fish they've allowed an extension on their policy in this case.
If the fish dies and my water tests are clear, I will get a replacement. (I said the fish is better off here with me, & that was that!)

From Wiki:
"The Zaporozhets (Russian: Запоро́жец, Zaporozhets; Ukrainian: Запорожець, Zaporozhets) was a brand name of subcompact cars designed and built from 1958 at the ZAZ factory in Soviet Ukraine ("Zaporozhsky Avtomobilny Zavod", or Zaporozhsky Automobile Factory). Different types of Zaporozhets were produced until 1994. It had special features for disabled people such as ability to be fully controlled by hands and sometimes was given for free by the state to disabled people or war veterans.
The name Zaporozhets means a Cossack of the Zaporizhian Sich.
Zaporozhets is still warmly remembered in many ex-USSR countries. Like the Volkswagen Beetle or East Germany's Trabant, Soviet Zaporozhets was destined to become a "people's car". It was the cheapest Soviet car and so the most affordable to common people. At the same time, it was rather sturdy and well suitable to Russian roads (or the lack thereof). The very looks of this car gave birth to several nicknames that stuck with it forever: "Zapor" (short for "Zaporozhets", but also means "constipation" in Russian), "hunchback" (due to ZAZ-965 insect-like form; ZAZ factory workers never used this nickname, using "Malysh" (Russian: малыш; English: Kiddy) instead ), "big-eared" (the car had air intakes on its sides to cool down the engine in the rear of the vehicle).
All Zaporozhets cars featured rear wheel drive (with engine in the rear) and aircooled engines.
The ZAZ-968 was produced from 1972 to 1980. It had the ears removed again, and featured the newer MeMZ-968 engine, which increased the displacement to 1.2L and the power output to 42 hp. The ZAZ-968M featured some minor updates and was made from 1979 to 1994."

Piles can be cured through various yoga asanas. Piles and yoga simply means that yoga helps a great deal to treat piles. Before we go onto exactly how piles and yoga works, it is important to know just what Piles are. Piles are enlarged blood vessels which are present near the anal region. This disease can affect people of all ages. The veins present in the rectal area get inflamed and this results in a great deal of pain. There are two types of Piles – external and internal. Internal piles are those which are found inside the body, close tot the anal canal. External piles can be seen outside. There are several reasons why piles occur. These include:-
• Obesity
• Stress
• Lack of exercise
• Intake of a low fiber diet
• Constipation
• Eating too much oily and spicy food
• Pregnant women suffer from piles as the fetus gets heavier and puts weight on the abdomen. Increased blood flow during pregnancy is also the reason for this.
Yoga for Piles treatment can be done toghter. Some of the yoga asanas for piles are:-Shirsha Asana( Headstand), Chakrasana (Wheel Pose), Uttanasana (Standing Forward Bend pose), Sarvanga Asana(The Shoulder stand), Tada Asana (The Mountain Pose), Padahasta Asana(Hand to Foot Pose), Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutation), Pavanamukta Asana (The Wind Releasing Pose), and Pranayama (Breathing Control). I love the way the light is highlighting the red-veined leaves and delicate cluster of red buds. And I adore the tiny thread of a spider web.
Quassia amara is a species in the genus Quassia, with some botanists treating it as the sole species in the genus. The genus was named by Carolus Linnaeus who named it after the first botanist to describe it: the Surinamese freedman Graman Quassi. Q. amara is used as insecticide, in traditional medicine and as additive in the food industry.
According to WebMD, Quassia is used for treating anorexia, indigestion, constipation, and fever. It is also used to rid the intestines of various kinds of worms, as a tonic or purgative, and as a mouthwash. Some people apply quassia directly to the scalp for lice.

The Sunken, Swedish Modern Contemplation Garden
It's the late 1950s and you're an architect, engineer or city planner developing a new business and commerce plaza in a New England city. Someone -- your boss, the committee, your spouse -- beats up on you to include some kind of garden on the complex. You call in a designer, who comes up with this weird sketch of shady trees along swooping, looping paths. It's a little too bizarre for your post-War, button-down mind, but the committee passes it with only a few gripes. To keep installation and maintenance costs down, you pave it with these hexagonal asphalt pavers you got on special, and hope they last.
That's my story, and I'm sticking with it.
Constitution Plaza, Hartford, Connecticut. A year after I shot these photographs, demolition began on the old WTIC/WFSB Broadcast House, hence the title. Four years later, it's still a dirty, abandoned vacant lot. What a waste.
A wild riot of colour as thousands celebrate London's Gay Pride Parade 2011. London 02.07.2011
This Saturday July 2nd 2011 saw the explosion of colour and fabulous carnival/cabaret fancy-dress which is the annual Gay Pride parade passing through the packed London streets as many Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender groups representing special interest campaigning groups, trade unions, the armed forces, police service, christian groups and several of London's gay bars and clubs celebrated their sexuality and diversity, watched and cheered on by tens of thousands of enthusiastic members of the public.
The days celebrations were purposefully snubbed by London mayor Boris Johnson much to the anger and irritation of many, since Mr. Johnson is expected to show support for all Londoners. However, his greatest opponent in the upcoming mayoral elections, former London Mayor Ken Livingstone was to be seen - as always - at the head of the parade, accompanied by human and gay rights activist Peter Tatchell.
Gone was the nervous tension of the original trail-blazing Gay Pride marches of the late 1970's and early 80's, as a new generation of gay people enjoy far greater public acceptance of their lifestyle in what feel like more enlightened times. What is taken for granted now was fought for in the past by courageous activists and their political supporters who wanted to see an end to the homophobic bigotry and institutionalised discrimination which used to be the universal public position towards them.
Having said that, there was a demonstration set up at the bottom of Waterloo Place by a group of so-called Christians from the Baptist Church - some of whom looked like they had been time-warped directly from the 1950's, complete with emotional constipation - who spent the entire afternoon insulting and demeaning all gay people and anyone who accepts homosexuality as a part of the enormously wide spectrum of human sexuality by cherry-picking snippets from the Bible completely without proper context, and generally showing themselves up to be nothing more than a bunch of hate-filled bigots who hilariously claim to love the people they were standing there belittling.
My photos of the Baptists and the crowd's reactions to being assaulted by the pious abuse are already uploaded in my set "Baptists preach intolerance at Gay Pride Parade".
After the parade made its way from Portland Place to Trafalgar Square, the marchers and bystanders alike dispersed into Soho for some serious street partying which lasted late into the night. There was a main stage in Trafalgar Square which hosted a long rosta of minor-league pop and dance acts during the afternoon, though oddly this year there were no big-name headliners, and another Dance Stage in Soho Square which featured a great line-up of club DJs.

Natural Ways To Ease Constipation
The skeleton of my spaghetti was frought with constipation. Morever, the dog, ran over the hill. In essence, circumstances may be of reasonable meat. Fortitude, however. Maybe the best thing to do is just to swap the bills for some change. You fetid monkeygrinder of a grandmother, may your lawnmower never reek of camel oil.
