People are more and more absorbed by their smartphones! Shot in the historic district of Vieux-Montréal near the Crêmerie Saint-Paul ice cream kiosk.

We visited the city of Beppu primarily for the nutrient rich hot springs. The yield of hot water is said to be the highest in Japan and you can find various types of onsen to enjoy. The resulting rising steam is also a characteristic of Beppu.
While walking to a sand Onsen, this rather cubist architectural scene with all the overhead wiring caught my attention.

Continuing on with my 'blue' abstacts", this one also demonstrates the connectedness that I feel with everything around us - we are connected to nature in so many, many different ways. Tomorrow is Remembrance Day, and it makes me feel that the many soldiers who fought for all of us, are still connected with us, and it is time to say our sincere thanks for their many sacrifices. May their efforts and sacrifices never be forgotten.
This is the same image as before but I have removed the tourists to make it more aesthetically pleasing.

Eilean Donan (Scottish Gaelic: Eilean Donnain) is a small tidal island where three lochs meet, Loch Duich, Loch Long and Loch Alsh, in the western Highlands of Scotland; since the castle's restoration in the early 20th Century, a footbridge has connected the island to the mainland. A picturesque castle that frequently appears in photographs, film and television dominates the island, which lies about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) from the village of Dornie.
Eilean Donan is part of the Kintail National Scenic Area, one of 40 in Scotland. In 2001, the island had a recorded population of just one person, but there were no "usual residents" at the time of the 2011 census.
Eilean Donan, which means simply "island of Donnán", is named after Donnán of Eigg, a Celtic saint martyred in 617. Donnán is said to have established a church on the island, though no trace of this remains.
The castle was founded in the thirteenth century, and became a stronghold of the Clan Mackenzie and their allies the Clan Macrae. In the early eighteenth century the Mackenzies' involvement in the Jacobite rebellions led in 1719 to the castle's destruction by government ships. Lieutenant-Colonel John Macrae-Gilstrap's twentieth-century reconstruction of the ruins produced the present buildings.
As my dear friend Greg Barret (http://www.flickr.com/photos/universaleducation/) was talking i kept his sentence on my mind......."we are all connected"........and yes we are, even if we don't feel it!

This set of maple keys was picked up several weeks ago when they were small and still green, then forgotten about until this week and by then they had turned brown. This shot was set up to look as though the maple keys were still attached to the tree using back light from the sun to bring out the details.
The Type 46 was a large car with a weight of 1134 kg and a wheelbase of 3505 mm. From the end of 1929 to 1936 400 copies were made. The three-speed gearbox was connected to the active rear axle, which resulted in a high unsprung weight and a relatively hard ride. Nevertheless, the model was a Le Patron favorite and stayed in production longer than expected.
