Astley Green Mining Museum walkabouts
Liked this place a lot. Run by volunteers whose aim is to keep the history of coal mining alive. Great for general walkabouts with all sorts of heavy industrial equipment wanting you to take a photo.
Was smitten with this place & the bunch of lovely ex mining folk who made me very welcome, thank you
Chunks of old iron sat forlorn rusting away are probably the uninteresting photos you could think of !! so with this set I've gone for a 'cross colour' edit & as usual kept the white border , experimented with B&W which was my idea from the off but thought the watered down colours added a little more to the image, any feed back or tips would be appreciated ;-)))))))))

This small footbridge is lifted every time a slightly larger boat goes in or out of the strait. Fully automated and operated with your mobile phone.
At first the connecting cool blue colors drew my attention, a moment later I realised this is the typical way a mother and her teenage son leave a shop, apart together, having her leading the way and him bored-faced following a little behind ....
Enough reason to add it to my ongoing series Juxtaposition.
Juxtaposition places two or more subjects side by side to elicit response within the audience's mind.

Dear old-fashioned wall phone,
I was impressed to see you framed like a piece of art. You don't meet that definition, but you were an important part of my childhood, just like your evolved model resting on a table. Those were the days when nobody could track you all the time.
You had some disadvantages. Because I grew up in a tiny apartment, and you presided a wall in an equally tiny dining room, your ringing tone was far too loud. You couldn't come up with an excuse for not hearing the phone ring. Also, when I was a teenager, it was important to be careful about what you said and did because everyone else in the room stopped talking. Luckily, my parents weren't the inquisitive type. Nevertheless, my answers were usually monosyllabic.
The search for a phone box was often ruled by Murphy's Law, so I couldn't rely on you in an emergency outside the house. That was a real problem.
On the other hand, you didn't have a screen, nobody would call me to sell me stuff, and Whatsapp wasn't connected to you to make my life even harder.
I could go on and on about you, but I'll stop. You're gone, and so is my youth. We belong to a past time.
It was nice to see you again, though.
