Mostar is a city in southwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina on Neretva River. The name comes from word mostari ("bridge guards"). On the left bank is the Old Town (Muslim part) with the famous street "Kujundjiluk". The right bank of the city is inhabited mainly by Croats. The banks of Neretva within the old part city are connected by a stone bridge built by Turks in 1566, called the "Old Bridge".

Kujundjiluk is the most famous street of Old Town Mostar. Its name comes from the masters of blacksmith settled on the left bank of the river (kulundżije)

In November 1993, as a result of hostilities, Croatian missiles destroyed historic buildings and a bridge. The reconstruction of buildings and the bridge was completed in 2004. In July 2005, the Old Bridge and its immediate surroundings (Kujundžiluk - the old bazaar) were added to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list.

Brzegi Neretwy w obrębie starej części miasta łączy wybudowany przez Turków w 1566 roku kamienny most, zwany "Stary Most".

Kujundżiluk jest najsłynniejszą uliczką starówki Mostaru. Jej nazwa pochodzi od osiadłych na lewym brzegu rzeki mistrzów kowalstwa (kulundżije)

W listopadzie 1993, w wyniku działań wojennych, Chorwackie pociski zniszczyły zabytkowe budynki oraz most. Odbudowę budynków i mostu zakończono w 2004 roku. W lipcu 2005 Stary Most i jego najbliższe otoczenie (Kujundžiluk - stary bazar) zostały wpisane na listę światowego dziedzictwa kulturowego UNESCO.

A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow humans...

our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects.”

This stream crosses back and forth underneath I-5, just south of Canyonville Oregon. What's nice for me is there are several places on both the north and southbound sides of the interstate that I can park the big rig, and then hike a short way to the stream. The banks are pretty steep and covered wirh lots of moss covered rocks, but worth the effort. I was hoping for less water and more exposed bolders, but still too early in the season.

Along Windsor, Ontario’s riverfront is this very interesting structure, with a totem pole as its centre piece. Totem poles are monuments created by North American, First Nations of the Pacific Northwest to represent and commemorate ancestry, histories, people, or events. No matter wherever we live, we are all connected, as this structure signifies to me.

As many of you know, my wife Marilyn has had a major stroke that was caused by the autoimmune disease lupus, which she has had since the age of 19. Currently she is undergoing rehab for the stroke at a hospital here in Windsor. To complicate matters, the hospital has recently had a COVID-19 outbreak. Marilyn is one of 14 patients that has gotten this virus. Currently her symptoms are mild, but she does have some congestion in her lungs, Her doctors continue to monitor not only the lupus and stroke, but also the effects of this virus.

My apologies to all my Flickr friends for my lack of activity over the last several weeks. I will be checking in with many of you over the next few days.

Best wishes to all of you and stay safe. Please wear a mask whenever you are in public, this virus is real and deadly.

We are camping in the back garden today. It is very warm & the kids play outside all evening :-)

A previously unpublished shot from September 2015. One that remained in the archives as I since found myself being really averse to photographing people using mobile phones for calls. A personal take as you never know if it's an important call with bad news or something. Anyhow, I do remember that she was flattered when I took this and broke out into a smile. Enjoy!
